he needs to have a good look, his club is no longer "UNDERGROUND CLUB OF THE YEAR" credit where it's due I grew up dancing in shindig long before it was foundation, had some amazing nights. His ressie DJ's are some of the best I've seen...he needs to move with the times or his club is gonna be packed with burberry sporting sweating toy gangsta's not clubbers.

All he needs to do is start booking different people! even if its just one different guest a month its still enough to bring a fresh crowd in!

Well said Jon my thoughts exactly, they need to start experimenting with the line-up a bit or the club will go stale like it did for a while when it was at the riverside.

Cant see me going to Kleinenberg tho Groove Armada are Dj'ing at Newcastle Uni the same night.

There might be more underground DJs around that you prefer but the people they book are hardly mainstream, they're leading figures in their genres

The last time Carl Cox played in Shindig (April 2001) was undoubtably the best night of my life - one of those where you really dont want the night to end and you come out feeling absolutely mint.....

......but a house set :spangled: ??? Why book Carl Cox to do a house set when what he does best in techno - there are a million and one house DJs out there waiting to be booked for Shindig.

And a big no score for Romero and Mackintosh.

Shindigs a house club not a techno club thats why he'll be playing a house set like Slam did a few months back and plus he'll pull loads of people in.

Seen him at shindig in april2001 and i wasnt impresed at all far too much banging techno for shindig and the miserable git just walked off after his set and didnt even play a last tune if i remember rightly.

This time could be different his house set at space about 5 years ago was fucking awesome won best essential mix that year, should be interesting to see what sort of house tunes he's playing these days.

to be fair though, that fabric line up is a bit special. very much like chibuku's policy if you ask me. they sure aint afraid to book anyone.

Aye spot on so why book techno djs to play in a house club. Fair dos he'll pull in the crowd but so will a lot of other proper house djs.

Shindig is primarily a house club but doesn't mean other styles of music should not get played. A bit of variation doesn't do any harm. I think they put 'house set' in brackets against Slam and Carl Cox because they don't want to scare off a lot of the Shindig regulars who might think that that night would be too harsh for them. Both these DJs will almost certainly know Shindig is not a techno club anyway and would adjust their sets accordingly
