Thursdays are actually well good if your into your hip hop/r n b - they have the likes of shortee blitz and firing squad playing reguarly...

ive never been a lover of foundation despite all its coolness so if its shutting down or gettin sold or woteva i reckon promise would suit ikon down to the ground!

plus u would get alot of people who would go to ikon anyway goin to promise at ikon hence more people and profit!!

and anyone who says they wouldnt go to promise at ikon cos of the charvas should just shut it cos they probably are charvas themselves...but just dont realise it

bein from newcastle i always used to go to ikon when i was a young un and stil do on the odd sat as sum of my mates stil go!! trying to convert them to promise as its miles ahead of any of that shit!!! the boats not bad on a thurs tho just to start the weekend off!! £8 with nus and drink all u like!! before u know it its friday afternoon and time for promise!!!!!! cant wait for the gate!!!!!

Marks right about ikon bein an amazin venue!! eva seen it with fire-eaters (etc)? its amazin, just a shame about the music!! half the people that go to ikon wud love promise but they stick to what they know, cheesy tunes!! promise at ikon as a 1 off wud be a great idea!! wud convert a lot of people from their cheesy ways me thinks!!

Am sure a went to a gods kitchen event at ikon a few years back???

if am not mistaken that was wen the fireeaters etc were all in - class deccor and mint entertainers - quality music - and from wot a remember, not a bad crowd!

i would absolutely LOVE IT if promise was held @ ikon.

nothin against foundation, a really really enjoy it....but i think ikon as a venue is SO much better.

Ikon i think has always been a good venue but its the majority of shits that it gets in at a weekend that lets it down along with the frommage DJ's !

Loads of people that i know have said the same thing and thats if it had a bit of a make over with this n that - got new staff / doorstaff as well as like the music policy and DJ's then its a recipe for success - Ikon as it is now tho must be doing summit right coz there's never any word on it struggling or going thru a bad patch !

I've said the same thing myself. I bet they make a fortune from all the chavers and beerboys who get in there!

Ikon, like everywhere else in town, has lost numbers compared to this time last year. It went through a really bad patch about a year and a half ago but now is doing well, especially on Wednesdays and Thursdays. In general people aren't going out as much as they used to and 1am licenses are killing nightclubs. Rumour has it that Ikon will be getting a big refurb later in the year. Nice venue but compare it to other commercial clubs like Creation in Leeds, its no where near as good.

Im sure that Ikon has foam parties just to get some of the skiprats a clean and the carpets a wash
