Rufus the Darkness are a tongue in cheek glam rock band, based on the likes of def leapord and spinal tap... they play on their novelty value... However they are an extremely talented band, they produce great songs and they've made the most uncoolest of music forms - cock rock... heinously cool... that deserves credit.

Ocean Colour Scene however lack any talent - the "Paul Wellar wanna be's" are SHIT! Their albums are a collection of unoriginal tunes littered with more cliches than the latest arnie movie...Take their latest album their biggest achievement with this excuse for an album is rhyming the line "Its a cultural shift its the North Atlantic Drift"

Ocean Colour Scene are a watered down mod-revival band? This we must agree on. There is a very fine line between influence and immitate. Take Justin Timberlake - he was blatantly influenced by Michael Jackson - but there was a smidgen of originality with him... Howver Abs was just a british immitation JT.

You could slip an Ocean Colour Scene song into a "best of the jam" compilation and the only thing that would make it stand out was the poor quality.

OCS have admitted on numerous occassions that weller and townsend were huge influences on their music... You can't challenge this fact, now u can call it heavily influenced like they do - but most consider it biting.
