it is however quite blatant hypocracy, no? ;)

if your prepared to do nothing about it, yet condemn it in the same breath.

we could argue for days and never change our viewpoints.

i know people who sell drugs. i don't shop them to the police, i guess this could make me a hypocrite also... however its all about what you deem acceptable behaviour whether lawfull or not. i do believe some laws are wrong and in such occasions i would not get involved.

this is not about the legality of the issues, but more the fundamental principles of each crime. who it affects? who suffers from it? etc... the morality of the crime.

hence why i questioned people morals at the start of this. ;)

joe, please get a clue. :p

Chris as you said you've lived a sheltered life, probably went to boarding school and the baddest mother fucker you've probably ever met is me... a scrawny middle class jew :D

However at some point in your life your probably going to befriend at least one unsavoury character and then you can form your own judgement - as shopping on your friends is an easy thing to say you'd do, however when you actually have to do it - its a whole new ball game.

And middle class rich yarm boy who's never even stole a mars bar from the local corner shop can sit their preaching till he's blue in the face (kinda like politicans on the drug issues) but until you've actually been put in the situation - please don't preach to me :D

    Where you from Whitley Bay?
Back in the day the old 1 way system that used to go round the Spanish city was some track.

The old Bee Hive road is still good & along the coast from Tynemouth to Whitley is sweet as well.

Grassing is not on where I was brought up. It's not worth the attention it brings either - moral high ground or not.

my cousin spent 3 years in jail for being involved in a crime ring, which operated a chop-shop in luton. he was a mechanic, and was also involved in the actual stealing of some cars.

he was caught, he knows he was involved with the wrong crowd and since gone on to sort out his life. i was upset when it happened, but i don't think he should of gone unpunished.

he is now a very succesfull landlord.. and has more cars than he knows what to do with these days.

so in answer to your question, 1 and 0.

If you think every car thief comes out of the judicial system a changed man your havin a larf... I know for a fact if I grassed on the lads I know I'd take a severe beating, lose a lot of self respect and nothing would really happen.

Maybe they'd get sent down for a few months but as soon as they got out they'd be twocing again - like a shit load of car theives do.

    exactly

and if it was revealed that it was you who grassed you'd be in trouble.
im sorry but with the current state of the law i have absolutely no faith in it what so ever.
prime example- the farmer who got locked up for shooting people burglarising his home. id have done the same. but it seems nowadays that the law punishes the wrong men.

i never once said i believed our penal system worked 100%. i still believe people should be punished, whether they sort themselves out or not, agree?

why live in the fear of crime, if this is the attitude of someone who is obviously intelligent, what hope does our society have if people aren't prepared to offer evidence for fear they might be beaten up?

witness intimidation goes on, but no were near as much as you would believe.
