Where I come from (wolsingham) you don't grass on your own - you don't take your problems to the police - you let the neighbourhood sort it ;)

OK I know some of my mates are car thieves, I don't agree with what they do - I distanced myself from them a long time ago - but I certainly wont grass on them... What good would that do anyway? Do you honestly think it would stop them twocing?

Some of you live on another fucking planet.

If your main objection to car thieves is they put innocent lives at risk - so do boy racers, yet half of you muppets jack off over photo's of evo's and the other half are probably the fat slags who get their bajumblies out at team valley cruises.

I don't understand how gangsters like the kreys are idolised - yet in your eyes petty car theives deserve to die.

Chris there are certain things you shop your family for (pedophelia would be a nice example) but for stealing a car? Thats just wrong in my eyes... yes you kick the little shit to fuck, yes you have a serious word with him... but u don't fucking testify against your own blood...

As far as morals go loyalty ranks very highly in my book.

guess thats were we differ, there is no neighbourhood or such where i come from. crime is almost non-existant other than theft, which i imagine is nearly always committed by those travelling into the area to commit such crimes.

guess this is where we differ again i wouldn't want to be associated with anyone who thought it was acceptable to steal or damage anothers belongings. i know i can say this quite flippantly about shopping my brother as i know in reality i will never have to deal with this situation.. but i would do it, and i know my father would do it to either of us aswell.

loyalty ranks very highly in my book also, however i would consider it a betrayal of loyalty to me and my father if he were to be involved in such a crime, and just because he is related to me my blood does not mean he wouldn't deserve punishment. what about the vitcim? it is one law for all in my book, no-one deserves special treatment.

my objection to car thieves, is they do not own the cars they wish to drive!

they also drive without insurance, meaning should they injure someone and they quite often do, there will be no way for the injured party to claim for damages, ranging from physical property damage to that of taking a life.

barry boys are undoubtedly dickheads also, however the majority are covered by insurance.

society is in such a mess because people think it is ok to tolerate crime, or that it is pointless doing anything about it. do something, anything.. don't ignore it, cos next time you might be a victim.

I was actually lying - some of my neighbours are A-list celebrities :D I don't live in the bronx...

Basically your "ffs, get some fuckin morals you lot!" pissed me off as I have evry strong morals and its these morals that would make it very hard for me to shop on a friend for something as petty as car theft.

The hypocracy that some people show in the thread also irritates me - they think its fine to deal, street race, etc. but as soon as someone twocs a car its a very different story.

I'm by no means saying I agree with or condone car theft - I'm simply saying I wouldn't grass on my friends for stealing cars... This doesn't mean I have no morals... It simply means in my eyes loyalty is very important.

lol you what? Someone can cripple someone for life if they're insuared cos the cripple will get a big pay out? Fuck off.... The injured party may be protected by the barry boys insurance but if he's killed do you think the families going to see it as a good thing?!?!?!?

Yet you'd never shop a boy racer to the police as he's probably got a decent job a fair amount of cash - I mean he's a good almost law obiding citizen - not like the scum who steal cars.

Both put innocent lives at stake and I can't begin to understand how you can differntiate between the two... both shouldn't be doing what they're doing.

i would shop a boy racer in an instant mate, think you need to re-read what i've written. *edit* my point would of been bettered illustrated had i emphasized i thought that what these idiots do is just a serious crime.

my point was car thieves are simply worse than them.

yet you use similar hypocracy in your next point.

you say you don't agree with car theft, yet you would stand by knowingly and do nothing about it... how does that work?

total double standards as long as you know the car thief and they are a 'sound lad' then they don't deserve to be caught. joe for once your talking complete shite.

From my days at Roker, I can honestly say most proper boy racers do not want to see a dot of rain on there cars never mind blood or a lamppost on the bonnet. Most car thieves have no meaning of value or respect for what they are driving & this makes them more dangerous.

I am proud of your stance, but would you defend the scum in a court of law?

How on earth is that a double standard?

I never once said they're sound lads, I know a few people that go out and twoc cars, most from my school days - I don't see much of them as I've distanced myself from that crowd (I disagree with the stuff they do)... However this does not mean I'm going to forget our history and snitch on them.

    It means I move on.

This isn't a double standard - a double standard would be if I disgareed with car theft but stole cars... I simply think loyalty comes before a slap on the wrist. I don't understand how that is a double standard... I would never ever drug deal however just cos I don't shop my mates that do - it doens't mean there is a double standard....

chris for once your making no sense :p

no, if i were to become a defense barrister i would only defend clients i thought innocent myself. however the situation is not likely to arise, as i'm planning on specialising in corporate litigation and common contractual disputes.
