Was waiting to get the PS3 but the games are not a patch on the 360 so bought a premium about 2 weeks ago from play.com for 199.

Glad i made the choice Xbox live is way better than the sony live service but ill probs still get a PS3 when some decent games come out and by that time it should be cheaper too,

Games make the machine not the gadgets and my mate has a PS3 and side by side the same games i have to say the 360 looks to have the edge on the graphics for now.

Since someone mentioned Half life, i thought id bring up gabe newells comments :)

Edge: Going back to thinking about different platforms, we notice that you aren’t developing the PS3 version of The Orange Box in-house. Do you have some horror stories to share?

GN: I think the people who have The Orange Box on the PS3 are going to be happy with their game experience. We’ve done the PC and 360 versions here and EA has a team doing the PS3 version – and they’ll make the PS3 version a good product; EA got the job done in putting a lot of people with PS3 experience on the project. But I think it’s harder to get it to the same standard as the 360 and PC versions.

Edge: A while ago you said that you thought Sony should do a 'do-over' with PS3. Do you still think that?

GN: Absolutely. I think [PS3 is] a waste of everybody’s time.

Yeah I saw a video from representitives of various developers who said similar on IGN or Gamespy - PS3 is such a cunt to program even just like-for-like 360/PC games, never mind beating them graphics wise. Plus Microsoft's "install base" they rant on about is millions and millions of users higher than Sony's so developers aren't going to lose too much sleep if a game never gets released on PS3. They'll already be coining it in.

I'm yet to play on a ps3 which looks specced to the hilt but, like the PS1 did with the N64 which was a far superior machine, I'm confident Microsoft have the edge on the greater range of games this time.

Multi-platform titles seem to be released later on the PS3 too.

Something doesnt feel right about the PS3. I cant explain what but when i play any game on it it feels the same as when i played on a Dreamcast, theres something missing from the gameplay. Even a demo i played of Gran Turismo was nothing special at all.

Metal Gear Solid looks amazing though - my mate had a disc full of in game videos and in all honesty i havent seen any other game on either the 360 or Ps3 come close on first impressions.

The release of MGS, GTA 4 and Gran Turismo will all show if the ps3 is the real deal or not.

The demo of fifa wasn't anything great either, but 3 weeks later the full game came out and it was a shit load better. Gran Turimo's demo has been out ages and the game isn't due for release any time soon. I can imagine the will be a huge difference on it.
