no these threads wont stop promise has so many good memories for people on the board. many people miss the old days on the board
Promise was a business, you need djs like John Kelly, Jules, Dave Pearce etc to get the numbers in. foundation was a big club to fill every well, 9 time out of 10 Mark and Richard get the balance right
I can think of people who would ram the place and do a far better job than some joke like Dave Pearce. Promise generally did pretty well.
that was the point, dave pearce is shit, but he filled the 1200+club every time as did jules (all be it with a shit crowed) and thats how promise paid the bills. look back thru old post when people just went on and on about this and that dj's then when they did book them no fucked turned up!!! its the same old problem, intenet clubbers. no dig it you, thats just who it works. Paul and I had the same problems with Vuzz "book so and so the last set i downloaded was class" yet they never turned up. I had a chat about this with Richard once and he told me promise was the same, just cost a shit load more money to put a night on. the problem is with newcastle, not enuff people like the dj's you think wud ram a club like foiundation, even if they wud kick jules all over, jules hasa died hard crowed that will pay to see him

AND OUR SON`S SON`S WILL GET SICK HEARING ABOUT THE TIME WE SPENT THERE PROBABLY WELL I KNOW WHAT I`LL BE DOING WHEN THEY INVENT TIME MACHINES ......... AND NO IT WONT BE COMING BACK TO ERASE THIS POST !!!!!!
lol, am getting sick of hearin about it. There was an article a couple of months ago in mixmag talking about how we should ditch the cubbers who always look upon new club nights with a pessimistic view because it could not liv up to the so called 'all days' I am only probably saying this because i was too young to go to Promise and i think nights like Evolve and Junior G are class.
there has always been those types of clubber - the people just change every 4 or 5 years and a new batch of wide eyed kids arrive
