I don't know if it wud. I don't find them to be similar much. I go to Promise more than I go to Shindig tho.

    Wouldn't work at all.
All the hardened trance heads of the Promise massive would be whingeing cos of the house policy @ Shindig.only way it would work would be possibly to have something like Shindig ressies Vs. Promise's Prog/House ressies. The likes of Lee Roberts, the People Get Real lads, Mark, etc, etc.

The average punter who goes to godskitchen and sundissential is likely to go to the individual nights... the average punter who'd go to shindig v promise is only likely to go to one of the nights.... it wouldn't pull as big a crowd as the appeal isn't as big as if they teamed up with more complimentry nights.

I'm not saying it wouldn't work - it could... just saying there are far more logical partnerships and the only reason shindig is being suggested is becauyse they share foundation.

Personally, I don't like Shindig that much tho so I'd be more inclined not to go. Whereas, as with the Promise vs Goodgreef thing, I think that both nights are amazing and, therefore, that wud grab my attention more.

agree totally its a very illogical team...

for me tho this is the appeal....

dont u think tho it wud pull a big crowd? those who frequent both promise and shindig...and those who fancy a change.....

it cud go either way tho...the crowds may not mix well for example...creating bad atmosphere..thus spoiling the nite....

agree with the reason it was suggested, most probs was cos thy share foundation.....

a dunno tho...still think tis a fairly gud idea...certainly worth a thought id say.

think we all know realistically it wudnt happen - makes u wonder tho.............

Yeah......... he played about 3 weeks back, upstairs. Lee played main set downstairs when Darren Emmerson cancelled. I cant really think of other DJ's that have played both- possibly John Creamer???

Im not sure this idea would work well or not, though I think I would like it, as I like a bit of Shindig music (the deeper stuff) and of course I love Promise music!

I couldn't see this happening AT ALL though, for reasons which are only too obvious (to me) to go in depth about!

Its all very well saying that this sort of thing worked well for Goodgreef, but I couldn't see the Trophy Twins playing at Shindig, so I wouldn't compare it's success to how a Promise v Shindig would go. I think this type of music would possibly bo to "handbaggy" for Shindig, if you see Lee play at Shindig he will play way Deeper and far more techy than he ever would at Promise.

I definately agree with Joe about there being a different crowd too, which may not allow it to work.

this would never work. 2 completely different nights. the only thing they have in common is the building. thats it. totally different crowds and atmosphere. shindig rocks!!

and for anyone who thinks shindig is shit you are fools.

    Lee Burridge
    Tony Hutchinson
    Sasha
    Tall Paul
    Steve Lee?
    Dave Seamen

And the others people have mentioned there will be quite a lot of the early Promise DJs who have played both.

You're right there Jeff. Also to anyone saying "just give it a try, if it doesnt work, dont do it again"........... dont be daft, IT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN ANYWAY!. Shindig have been going for nearly 11 years, they are very stable and I would say wise enough not to do it, as I dont think it would work!
