Promise doesn't work like crasher - there isn't a simon raine.

however the door staff are provided by foundation and if u truely have a problem maybe try taking it up with them?

I don't think we have that bad a problem, there isn't a club in the UK where someone has been wrongly turned away... when u consider we live in newcastle home of the beer monster - yet theres never any fights in promise, they must be doing something right.

Well even so, I still firmly believe that the club personally should take it up with foundation themselves.

If you were in a shop looking for some help finding something, you would expect the people working to find what you were looking for and bring it back to you, not for them to say "ooh it's down there somewhere" different context perhaps but same principle, clubbers are customers

All good clubs are ran from the front door, doormen have to do as Alan Hansen says 'play percentages'. It may seem like there are a lot people getting knocked back by reading some posts but who is going post 'I got turned away from Promise last night because........ and the doormen were spot on'!!!!!.

If any club knocked me back I wouldnt want to be in that club anyway if it is knocking people like me back!

At the end of the day, as I've already said, if bad feeling gets around, people start to vote with their feet and I'm sure Promise doesn't want that to happen.

Crasher went through a spell earlier in the year where the security were very out of order, it was dealt with by the management, I as a customer if I went to Promise or any other club to operate in the same manner and not fob me off and make excuses that it has nothing to do with them and to take it up with the venue. It has everything to do with the club night there on the night, there's no excuses.

From what I have read nobody has said "ooh it's down there somewhere" I think what has been said is more like " If you go down there it is on the left handside".

But there isn't really that bad a problem at promise, you'll see when u finally come up :D

Theres one problem doorman in the boards eyes, I personally aint that keen on him as I know he hates my guts - think he maybe thinks I'm some "poncy queer" or summit cos I dress cyber....

However he is extremely good at his job, he stops a vast amount of cunts getting into promise - if one or two innocents get caught in the process its bad luck... But without him (and all the other doorstaff) promise would be another Ikon.

You've got to remember doormen are employed to be cunts, not your friend... The promise doorstaff usually handle this ver well - they're friendly and helpful - but still maintain an air of authority and profesionalism.

When you compare promise doorstaff to the likes of evolution, they seem like the nicest blokes in the world :D

Evolution has been the only place ever to turn me away but they let me in after a bit of shopping.

I'm guessing the doormen are the same ones who work Shindig too?

They were funny about me flyering outside after closing time on NYD. Was 4am and the place was closed so not as if I was taking any custom away from them! :(

When flyering outside a club its always good manners to get the promoters permision to flyer.... many doormen would kick you to shit for not having permision.

Although by law they can't stop you flyering, in reality they'll bar you from the club often with a beating... Most promoters will let you flyer outside they're club (unless your a rival night).

    Next time ask :D

So that was you handing out the flyers.

Ive never had a problem with the bouncers at foundation. But i think that they are part of the night aswell,if there going to be pushing people around for no reason (bullying can i call it),its gonna spoil the atmosphere in the club for everyone, then most people wont come back, and probably the same will go to the regulars that go in week in week out.

If the bouncers are happy and can pull a little smile off during the night, then there gonna make everyone feel welcome in the club, and people wil remember that, but if there gonna make people fel interogated, and bully people..etc..people are gonna remember that more than they would if they are happy.

As i say again i think the nouncers in foundation are spot on,ive spoken to them many of times, and they seem canny.

i really like the door men at foundation, i think they are all really nice and i have a good laugh with a few of them. there is always guna be the odd door man who has a problem with every1, that happens at all clubs, it cant really be helped, they are door men, you have to expect that from them.

i think we are lucky to have such good door men, they do their job, and they do it well, they keep out the people who look like trouble or ddont belong there, and they let ppl they think look ok in, obviously they cant be right everytime, but i think the decisions they make *most* the time is normally the best one.

i get on really well with most the door men in promise, and ive never had any trouble with them, or if i have, its been resolved sraight away with no fuss, if you want them to be nice to you, make an effort to be nice to them........although it wouldnt hurt for a certain door man to crack a smile every now and then!!
