Ok, then lets look at the possible situation if every promoter posted over every other night they saw.

    Is this what we want?

Why dont people just have a bit of repect and courtesy to other people nights. Seems like a lot better idea.

That's just silly, in most other cities similar nights are friendly with each other - it's not a promise music scene, or a freaky dancing music scene - it's a fucking music scene and if people had any sense they would be working together.

Are Promise not doing a night with Goodgreef? - now I know they're in different cities, but they're both competing against each other in terms of music styles, but they are being sensible and pooling resources, helping each other out where necessary etc, to make sure the WHOLE scene stays alive.

Nights of similar styles (which Promise and Ward 10 aren't anyway) should be supporting each other to get the small scale scene alive again - so we've all got something to go to.

I also think without spending lots of time putting posters up yourself for a night, then you may not understand where Ward 10 are coming from.

wow you guys are well upset about this.

my opinion is not one born out of an allegiance to promise, it would be the same if it was you who had posted on top of theirs, i was simply trying to point out to you how futile it is getting upset about something you are all not supposed to be doing anyway.

with regards to flyers and posters in private property, it is for the owner to decide whether or not your poster or flyers are displayed, it does not boil down to manners or some kind of misguided courtesy that you feel should exist.

and on that note i'm going home. ;)

thats why people who hand out flyers and put posters up have to pay money to get themselves a pass to put them up/give them out isnt it??

and many shops do allow you to put posters up anyhow

    fucking poster etiquette - lmao!!!!

sorry rob i'll have to disagree with you there.

i can guarentee i aint wet behind the ears mate.

i see your point, but what i'm saying is we dont have the same spending power as a night like promise.spending several hundereds of pounds to promote a night in 7 different cities is alien to us.we can only afford to promote our night with posters in sunderland and sometimes newcastle and durham.literally EVERY poster counts.now you are basically saying 'fuck em',if they cant afford to go round day in day out with a huge backstock of posters to go over replaced ones then hard lines.
i'm sorry if that is your attitude.smaller nights struggle as it is and look for support from bigger established nights so they can continue.and the people whos argument is 'its business',then they should come down to our party and see how much we are at the other end of the spectrum to promise and no way any kind of threat to the amount of clubbers promise or any other big night can draw in.also,we are not even the same music policy or in the same city.if we were a hard house/trance night in newcastle i could understand, yet not agree with, the beef.

we work fucking hard to put these parties on with money coming from our hard earned.not sponsers.not big door taxes.our brass.our wages.

we are the only night in our city that promotes in this way,so you can understand our gripe when outside promotes come in and disrespect our posters this way.

i have no beef whatsoever with promise, sundissential or whoever promoting in sunderland, after all there are a lot of kids who are into that kind of music through here.

just not at the expense of ourselves.

    ;)

is this a one off thing or do they do it a lot?

if its a one off then it was probs jus an honest mistake, if it happens loads then its a bit harsh really, esp if there is space for both/all posters of upcoming nights...

an it was kinda a blessing in disguise do you not think? now you have opened the night up to a whole new audience! ;)

Hope you don't take this the wrong way, just telling it as I see it...

What was it you actually didn't agree with? You could of reduced that post to about 3 facts, all of which seemed totally irrelevant to me.

I don't care about how what gets paid for, what music it is, how many people go, which djs play, how much people are charged on the door etc etc. It's just business to me to be totally honest.

Fly posting (as you are doing it) is illegal, if you expect people to play fair you are naive. Whether you like that or not (that people wont play fair) doesn't matter to me.

As I said, not meaning to be rude, just my opinion. :)
