i think you miss the point, the whole activity is prohibited by 'the law'.

hence why i suggested it is a unregulated 'dog eat dog' world.

If i was promoting my own night i would poster other clubs' posters regardless of their music policy or location. Bollocks to manners, it's just good business sense.

That's bollocks, if someone has a poster up anywhere for a night that hasn't yet happened it's just fucking rude to put a poster for a different night over the top of it - FACT - the legalities don't come into it.

    And to TheSpence:

    i) Promise is not on every weekend, so to ban all other nights from advertising or posting would be ridiculous - they do have rules which are fair enough - such as you can't post a night on the same night as a promise, which is totally understandable

ii) It is a music discussion board too, not just a promise club night board - else many of the people wouldn't be on it and it would be canny dull if that's all people were allowed to talk about.

If people want to talk about a ward 10 night then that's probably because they enjoyed it and want to discuss it with other people - that isn't them advertising their night though.

It does, but people like Quick need to remember that the Promiseboard provides people with a place they can advertise there night for FREE.

How many people have said thanks to Deakin for letting this happen. I have noticed a few people have links to this site from their sites, people like Jon Mack which is nice to see.

    no.

    :bang:

we are talking about someone posting over the top of someone elses poster on public property here.

quite obviously on private property the owner may display whatever poster he likes, it is entirely discretionary and if they have allowed a promise poster on top of someone elses then that is their choice.

you can be served with an ASBO for illegally fly postering.

i will provide you with all the relavent links to the law regarding this if you so desire.

fuck manners, like someone else said, print some more and stick them on top.

it comes back to my original point, you can't cry sour about something your not supposed to be doing. either print some more and put them up, or don't. s.i.m.p.l.e.

If you read my post, it says that the legalities of the situation have nothing to do with the fact that it is plain cheek to put a poster over one for something that hasn't happened. This happens in both legal AND illegal postering.

Simply saying print "some more" is an equally ridiculous point - why should promoters have to pay double just coz some cheeky bastard hasn't got the common decency to find somewhere else to put their poster up

To AndrewW: We're talking about putting new posters up over the original posters, not nicking the original ones :D

i don't know how you've missed it to be honest.

it's like a corridor of flyerers down either side, each one shoving flyers and posters in your face!
