the main thing wud be the cost it wud take 2 convert the 3rd room.... also if there were to b djs in there.. the cost to pay them... also would the club be busy enuf on sum more quiet nights....

aside from that... i think the 3rd room wud ba great addition!!! both another music genre room/chill zone is a good idea! :D

    Re: Chillout Room

I dont think there should be a whole room devoted to chilling out. I think the club should be expanded like this more as there are many people who like different things ie- techno, hard trance, proggy etc. If the club can cater for that then I think there would be a hell of alot of satisfied customers. Changing a whole room to a chill out room IMO is a bad idea. Why waste a big massive space just so monged people can come down etc., there are toilets etc for this.

As for the "Up n Comin DJ's" part hmmmmmmm

No prizes for guessing who'd there would be a pettition for here every week for most likely 6hr sets :D :D

Keep Promise as it is i say - there nowt wrong now and the new look may take all by suprise !!!

Failin that we could have a net room so Joe can get yet more posts onto his thousands already aye :D :D :D

Personally, I would love to see some D&B in the new room but I don't think it would fit in with Promise as a night which is a shame cos I love it. I'd also like to see stuff like Boards of Canada and Global Goon get played but again, a chill out room wouldn't work IMO. It's supposed to be a night out, not a sleeping session! I think having an 'upcoming/local djs' room is probably the best idea. I don't know the Newcastle music scene well enough to know if there are enough DJs of a reasonable standard who could play cos it'd be a bit rubbish if there were only say 5 or 6 DJs who were good enough. As I say tho, I wouldn't know about that sort of thing but in theory it seems like a top idea to me.

I've got a question: how big would this new room be?

Personally I'd like to see a lot more global underground stuff going on at promise like a year or so ago. It seems to have got a lot more trancey but I guess if thats what the majority want....

Though I do find that Hard House does your head in after the 1st hour. Def. would like to see a proper chillout room there with maybe a bit a squarepusher thrown in. Some sort of chillout d'n'b like the first CD on Oakenfolds Oslo album.
