Money makes the world goes round....

Yes, it does due to todays markets and global commerce. You need it to live, so in effect, it does.

However, do not mistake that factor for money being the biggest motivator in the workplace. There are many other factors which are attributed and aimed at by the individual. I see and work with it daily. The goal to management is to make the environment enjoyable and successful. It must be satisfactory for all involved.

What makes a good manager? That is your call. Everybody has their own preferences. One can only apply methods to the situation he/she is in.

If you take up employment anywhere, remember it will only be what you make it. Some jobs are naturally poor and can't be changed. Others are exactly what you want and you will strive forward.

There have been many theories released over the years with regards motivation in the workplace. Some may have covered the shallow waters of the topic in school with business studies.

I won't babble anymore, just remember to not mistake money for the most important factor in everyones eyes.

Why ya bastard, I'd of jumped at the chance except its a few months too late!! IM GUTTED. I got v. good communication and computer skills, n I don't normally blow me own trumpet (if I could arch me neck and back forward enough I would, but I can't). Just been promoted into advertising (yes Alan, Ben etc. that is cause for celebration...) , went from bein a temp n worked me way up, which brings me to my next point......

There's more to life than money. Sure, you need enough to survive and enjoy a night out or two, but pursuing riches won't find you happiness forever. I reckon you're far better looking for new challenges and by taking on a job that might not be ideal £s wise but challenging in the sense that you have to better yourself to advance, that's much more rewarding.

My brother started out on a pathetic excuse for a wage, even though he is (and was then) a qualified tree surgeon. He could've dropped his head and took a completely different career option, but instead he stuck at it, struggling financially and doing a v. long hours and demanding work. He got his first job by doing a days (might even have been a week, but Im not certain so I'll stick with day) work for nowt. He proved his ability and the boss could do no other than keep him on. From there he's reaped the rewards both at home and abroad, and he's been between five tree companies, all who are more than happy to take him back on at work- one company sent him an unorthadox letter, saying how happy they'd be if he decided to stay at the company. He declined, not because the money was better elsewhere (why would anyone choose to work in the north east rather than with a southern company, or in Ireland where the money was also decent, if money was top priority or motivator?). And in my job, I can guarantee that money isnt a motivator, cos if it was I would be on the dole.

My brother makes me and the rest of the family proud , and one day I wanna be as successful as him, therein lies the fact- not that I wanna have as much money as Bill Gates (although I wouldnt say no). Simple as that.

New lease of life? dunno bout that! Actually, there's chance I might be off Wednesday too, we'll be RATTED!!!!!! I like the Commie cos it's near Trav's and pints are only £1.30 (gone up now- were even cheaper at £1.20 before) and its good atmosphere. Would be content just goin down Slake at mine but Trav n John need to stop at home so they can wake up on time in morn as they're often up for work between 4-6 am :spangled:
