    Well it is though!

It's a total snub to everyone who's supported promise all these years, and dragged new people along.

"Oh there's Promise, didn't Andy used to go to that, ha ha, looks shit"

    Disgrace

    What he said!

At least Promise is back I suppose.

Is this an one off or what?

    my sentiments exactly.

it's gone the way of the big clubs, Ministry, Gatecrasher, etc - sold it's soul to the devil - but it's doing that to survive and make money - which seems to be the mind set

it'll be heaving, it'll make money. we could see this happening - it's a sad day for us that made & remember promise

    Re: msg to the haters

You can't blame them though, deaks has managed to pull some really good lineups out the bag for all of his nights... look at the names promise has attracted over the years. Compared to that (tulip aside) this is an insult.

TBF I think he could have managed a better lineup with both hands tied behind his back and only his nose with which to dial DJ's numbers... this smacks of "must try harder".

Pearce, back toback, with Ikon's finest, resident DJ Darren Scott, would be quite interesting. I seem to remember him ending each Saturday night with a DJ Boozy Woozy tune!

thing is, newcastle doesn't pull a large trance crowd anymore - it has to go for the commercial side of things and tailor it to the venue. ikon gets charvers, charvers love Dangerous dave - simple maths. just needed lashes to top it off :p

it's not the promoters fault - it's the clubbers tastes up that have changed - hence wax: on and the dig are still popular - it's was the COOL KIDS like...

Fair play to Mark, it will pull people in and make money. Just a shame they couldn't have put it under another banner rather than Promise.

    MOS is right.

Its your fault as clubbers that mark is putting this line up on. If MK X can only get 100 people in a bar in the bigg market for some supposidly "cool" underground trance dj. Why the fuck is Mark going to risk his money on it.

you have yourselves to blame.

the few hundred of us on here seem to be the main core trance fans in newcastle that would turn out to almost ANY decent line up in the area - as we have proven - but there's just not enough of us :(

Its all about money and anyone who says it isnt is lying. Mark has to make a living and i think this is a surefire way to pull in money!!

I wonder if the Ikon management had a hand in this line-up?

Its a shame because Ikon is a good venue.

How much is the door tax?
