i enjoyed ssne & delirious @ cuba cuba.

venue was fine imo for a hh night in newcastle.

anyone know if sunrise is still running @ the arena in boro???

Delirious was xcellent it was ran by the people who co promoted SSNE.

last i heard it had moved to a sat but as far as i know its still running.

yeah it kept me entertained on rainy thursday nights in my newcastle student days

I dont think you saw Bobby T he was advertised but couldnt make it but Bob T being the man he is sorted it all out and sent Mark Gray to Newcastle instead!! WHAT A FUCKING BLOKE!

i only lasted about an hour before i got taken home.

sunrise is still running but i think its havin a name change...

...nicola who promotes and organises it was at mine at the weekend and she mentioned that the next one would be in may as there were a few changes happening i think

also i think the arena is havin work done to it...although im not sure!

the line up planned for it too kicks ass!

Apart from Foundation (which is OK but not the best place I've ever been) there is a distinct lack of decent venue up here. Ikon is full of chava muppets, so too is Legends. That's about it!

Of course you go to nights for the music primerily, but if the venue is a sh!t hole with, shall I say, an indifferent clientelle, the night will not live up to expectations. It's not just the music that makes a night, it's other factors.

If I told you that Foundation was closing and Promise was moving to Ikon, even though the music would stay the same, I could honestly say I'd expect that turnout would fall as a result. The chavas wouldn't go as it's not the happy hardcore/sh!tty dance they listen to and usual crowd would aviod it due to the chavas.

Having Played at all but One ov the SSNE Events, I can truthfully say that they Were'nt the Busiest ov Gigs I have played for SS...But...
They Were Experimental & New to the Area. Bringing "Hard House" to the Forefront for a Change in Newcastle in the way ov "Bigger Events"
In My Opinion, Had they used "The Foundation" at the time instead ov Ikon.
SSNE would be now be an Established part ov North East Clubbing...
In Effect SSNE Led the Way...C'Mon "Promise"...

Been Buzy working in Cape Town Singapore & Portugal over the last 6 months but have bookings at a few Venues around Newcatle in the nxt couple ov Months...Me Buzzin coz' I aint seen my Geordie M8z since the last "Cause n Effect"

I Was Chattin 2 the Guyz from Cause & Effect last nite & they are in the midst ov sortin out a Venue.
Hopefully there'll be one on Next Month ... I'll keep you informed

Another example, Sundissential @ The Academy in Brum - attendance was falling due to the venue being w@nk and too many beer-boys spoiling the night. Music stayed constant throughout.

Now it's back @ the Sanctuary, it's rammed every week.

Same music, same promoters/dj's, different venue, higher turnout.
