If ya want trance goto promise
If ya want house goto Shindig
If ya want HH/Hard dance goto goodgreef or sundis
If ya want complete randomness and never knowing what ya gonna get goto the shack.

Cream tried to mix genre's and where are they?

BTW thats just my opinion so no-one go biting my head off or anything

i too am praying promise doesnt become a HH club, id be pretty pissed off it did.
i used to go for the prog dj's, seaman, warren etc, i was gutted they were dropped.
im happy with the likes of hardwick, pvd, ornadel etc, but if it keeps getting any harder, i wont bother going anymore.

Think you missed the point completely...

Promise should not become a HH club, that's not what it's all about, but I think having a few more harder nights would add another dimension to the place.

I do go elsewhere for HH, namely Birmingham and Leeds as there's no where up here that does it!!! :(

Good point made here. Shows the lack of variety in Newcastle. There's only one club that's (kind of) worth going to but only for either trance or prog, nothing else. There's more D&B up here than HH FFS!!! Newcastle has a distinct lack of decent venues and a lack of variety in what is played.

People have put HH nights on in Newcastle but they failed. Newcastle HH FANS are a very noisy minority

    Where???

Is this recently or we talking a year or more? If so, they've been really badly promoted as I've heard nothing about them!!!

Not asking for them weekly, but I'm sure one every two months isn't too much to ask. That's only 6 a year! Sure people could live with that! We've gotta put up with trance for the rest of the time... :p  :p

If there was a decent HH night up here, would save a lot of hassle! Obviously, would still be going to Sundis/North etc etc, but at least we could have a night out once a week instead of once or twice a month max due to expense of travel/hotels etc. :)

SSNE failed cos it clashed with norf, got the poorer DJ's, and had trouble with the bouncers at Ikon.

Also the music of sundiss back then was IMO pure hard house....now the sundiss sound is different, ranging from hard house, hard trance, bouncey hard house/trance, funky stuff and even at times the odd bit of floaty trance! so it caters for everyone!

if it came back i think it would be different...i know for deffo there would be a hell of alot more people who would go....even if they brought it back to cuba cuba i reckon it would work!

with regards to other hard house nights in newcastle...could they not be working as they has not been one yet where the venue has been half decent?

    *Round of applause!*

Agree with what you said there. Think there is a bigger market for HH up here these days but it isn't as evident as there's no where to go! Leeds has a massive HH scene, partly (IMO) because there are a lot of ppl travelling to Leeds from Newcastle. I think that if a good HH night was started in a decent venue up here, it would take off in a big way! Done properly, it would work. Done badly, as most HH night up here have been in the past, it will fail.

We were talking the othert day about Mood in The Gate being a class venue for SSNE! Not too big plus layout not bad at all.

Clashing with Norf was very bad.
The headline Djs @ SSNE were just as good as the headline DJs @ Norf. When you say poorer DJs do you mean the NE local DJs who played at SSNE? Sundissential has always given local DJs a chance just now the local DJs at North and HQ are big names.
Ikon doorstaff had to be very tough. Because at the time Ikon was verge of being closed unless they done what Northumbria police told them to do. They had to change doorfirms and the new doorfirm had to adopt a VERY tough stance on drugs.

I was speaking to someone very well connected with SSNE on Saturday and I was saying how great SSNE was at Cuba Cuba he agreed it was the best one they had put on but again it lost a lot of money .

Which venue in Newcastle would make HH Fans go to a HH event in Newcastle? Foundation, then where?

I have went to most HH events/nights in Newcastle because I like HH not Venues
