I wonder if something like sander van doorn + Tulip could pull a profitable crowd to Gershwins with the right promo  I know it's similar to what the Vuzz guys tried, but with more money behind the promo it might be possible....wouldn't want to put my own money on it mind
yeah i know what you mean... Its such a shame it has come to this tho having to book big names to get a crowd.. Someone was trying to tell me the other day that trance etc is making a come back with clubs selling out.. whatever would be good to get a mix of well known and up and coming dj's like SVD. i recon that would work.. who knows
vuzz tried a few times to book sander van doorn, but tbh he wasnt interested. i think paul actually spoke to him personally once and he said he had loads of uk bookings from big clubs, inside out, gods ect so wasnt taking any other bookings at that time. hes playing regular now at gods, IO, turnmills ect and with his productions i personally think he would pull a decent crowd.
u not tried to book him graham, email mates aint yas im sure he would play and bring u those promos that he will hav waiting for u i heard a rumour he was gonna b on at the union, not sure when tho
To be honest we are just taking in the options before we decide we did not decide to finish beacause the night was unprofitable we finished cause we had no venue since then we have had some good offers , some out of newcastle some in what i can say is we will defo be doing some stuff at ikon maybe on a sunday plus other bits and bobs at other venues . The last night at foundation did feel like the end but as time has passed we are coming to realise that other venues want us to do stuff maybe we needed a rest oh and as far as the thing about lying about the last night remember we only advertised it to you lot as that so we did not gain financially from it ,
perhaps on a night waxn is out of town, snowbombing perhaps? i heard that digitals soundsystem wasnt optimised for trance?
ikon is a mint venue for dance music its just the crowd that is sometimes horrific. i def think its a good idea to do maybe big events or one off nights rather than have promise running as a regular night again, that way u'll always attract a full crowd on your nights, it will stop all the wingers slagging off the not so good nights cos every night will be good if theres a considerable time gap between each promise night, plus that way you'll be able to book more class dj's for the nights that you do have.. just rachels 10p worth anyways!!
the odd one off event, using the Promise name would pull the punters - it's just a pity it's not back to the regular nights - but hey - it's the punters tastes that seem to have changed. kids nowadays. i've always loved trance - still do - and always will. These "i lke trance while it's cool and for 5 minutes" briggade have left a big hole... it'll come back... in some form
not at all you fool! maybe the focus is on the DJ cos thats who most of the crowd go to see? "Boshed in retards" - have a word....
This has been a very interesting read. Its funny how people change. How they have such short memories. They have the time of their lives at Promise and then once they start to think trance is "un-cool", they are quick to jump down the neck of Mark and Trance. Slag them both off at every given opportunity. Try and get the boot in and make the rest of the clones laugh. Short memories....laughable....pathetic.
