In the last gulf war i believe he used uruk as a shield for an air base... he hid planes under in their shaddow.... uruk was a city from babylonian times I bleive, when the americans discovered this base they shot it to fuck - resulting in perminant damage to this site of huge historic importance.

What I find more offensive though is using towns and villages as shields for potential american targets... I value history but I value human life above everything.

It also shows how willing he is to murder his own people in order to stay in power....

Proving a war will gain nothing, but kill hundreds of thousands and devestate a country and this is all down to greed.

I think Saddam should be removed from power - but there are far more humaine ways than going to war...

The most effective and reliable way would be a military coup (which almost happened last time but the yanks fucked it up), but this or an assasination or any other way would leave the yanks pennyless.... so we don't hear about these techniques....

War is not the best option and it should only ever be the last.

    get a clue :p

I dont think you can do it by elections as he got 100% of the vote in the recent unopposed Iraq general election

i find it hard to justify supporting a war in which their will be unnessecary loss of life... however i also find it unjustifiable to stand by and allow the regime saddam has/is imposing on his people. this leaves me troubled.

if the west are smart they would realise attackign iraq will only rally the iraqi people, and enforce his propoganda that we are inherently evil. saddams support can only benefit from an aerial bombing campaign.

how many bombs are going to be reported on iraqi television to of hit civilian targets? this is simply a war that cannot be won by dropping bombs on iraq. something must be done to bring about a resolution to this increasingly scary and deadly game of poker the world is playing. however it is simply inhumane for mass's of innocent iraqi's to die in the process.

Marfk that is during the actual war period... You know fine well the killing didn't stop there... an estimated 200,000 people have been murdered (or disappeared) by the secret police.

I'm not on about soldiers - I expect soldiers to die! And to be fair 30,000 is a fucking huge number... I'm on about civilians that have died as a result of war.... be it bombing at the time, starvation, disease, murdered for opposing saddam.... how you can even sit there and argue this?

figures of up to 800,000 are mentioned in that quote alone.... If we go to war with Iraq hundreds of thousands of people could be killed, its happened before and could very easily happen again.

If we have to go to war , we have to go not only to help these opressed people of these countrys but to safe guard are own way of life !!

Sanctions dont work on these people all they do is hurt even more the population of the countrys while the leaders still flourish with the black market etc .
They dont give a flying fuck about there own people just themselves and the fear and disrubtion they try and cause , I mean are the people who are anti war happy to have armed soldiers patrolling our citys for ever just in case we have a terrorist attack,
Im not happy about that at all I think it stinks and i think we should do something about all these people before it gets out of hand and ends in disaster !!

The last uprising the Shihad rebels were let down by the US! they said they were going to help but they pulled out at the last minute!!

If we assainated Saddam then somone else will take over!! the only effective way is to take out the whole reigime. Then set up a democracy which is looked over by UN peace keepers?????

This has happened so many times ... the US government are forever letting down/double crossing the opposition be it shihad rebels or the iraqi army... and the motive is usually money.

How anyone can support this war is beyond me :p
