I think in the current climate its safe to say most clubs other than those owned by people with seemingly infinite wealth will be tightening the purse strings a bit, this includes the likes of Man United. The days of sky high transfer fees and daft wage bills are gone I reckon.
How do you work that out? Manchester United are the most profitable club along Real Madrid over the last 10 years. They don't use "benefactor money" to survive & grow they use the wealth & resource of the club, there crowds are great. The deal with Nike is long term & they will more than likely benefit from AIG going tits up. I reckon they wont be spunking £30 million on a sub like Tevez though. Chelsea on the other hand a club with a bloke that had this infinite wealth & is still worth billions but not as many billions as 6 months ago, will feel the crunch.
Man Utd all the way. Scolari is already starting to moan and i can never see Liverpool winning it.... simply because if Gerrard & Torres go missing the whole team does, them two carry the side.
For some people money aint everything tho some players do believe in pride of wearing a shirt what preide would messi have in going from barca to man city one biggest if not the biggest name around to pretty much unkown club to most the world
robinho swapped real for city was a massive shock, either way you look at it the chances are that if any team in the premiership is gonna make these outrageously big signing its gonna be man city simply because of the way the owner will see it and the cash he has. i recon he will feel anything less then european football next season will be unacceptable and you will see some daft transfer attempts.
yes daft attempts but he wont succeed with many Robinho left because he was going to be used in a swap deal so knew he wasnt wanted at Real, Messi is barcas star player and theyre having a good season, hes not going to come to Man City, buffons possible but hes on his way out because of the problens with his back
