posh and nice places 2 eat in newcastle...

    it might seem obvious but the apartment has just taken on one of the best chefs in the north east from malmaison...

    other than that barn @ the biscuit next to stephenson building wipes the floor with anything else going in terms of food, atmosphere and it generally being shit hot...

    the baltic? hmmm... never heard anyone with a good word to say about the place until i read this thread, and thats from people that work there and have eaten there...

    i imagine eating at a restaurant where you work would change the dining experience somewhat.

    i concede my experience of the baltic may be a little dated now as i have only eaten their once, which was on the opening night. i still can't imagine the standards slipping that much though. it is still regarded by many as one of the best restaurants in the whole of the north east, not just newcaslte.
