I can safely say it's one of the best cars to use to strike fear into the hearts of criminals. If they knew the next 5 cars they were going to see in their rear view mirror after nicking a car was gonna be bunch of lambo's I reckon they'd think twice. Saying that, the money to crime prevention ratio will be seriously one sided. If they made police cars look faster I think that would be a start.

i can see the point in a cosworth or a subaru or an octavia vrs. cos at least these are good at speed chases on country roads too.

But cars that are only fast in a styraight line???

    its a publicity stunt

the same number plate is on loads of previous "press" lambos

i can remember being pulled by the escort cosworth police car when i was 17, the copper is trying to get me to sign a producer and i was to busy checking out the spoiler from the back seat

Me and a few of the scooby lads went to one of these organised cruise things a few years back in cumbria, they had a few impreza police cars present.

we wandered over fior a bit of banter, and got talking to this copper, he was a total bellend, but we humoured him by asking gay questions

"so how fast is it mista"
"have you done 100 miles per hour mista"
    etc etc

the copper thinks he is the fucken dogs bollocks, and comes out with a cracking line "its to fast for kids to drive put it that way, what do you drive, a mondeo?"
me: "nahh mate, i have that red and white WRX impreza over there, steve has the 380bhp tuned silver one and shek has the silver one with the big wheels, we wouldn't even get out of first gear for a UK version TBH"

even the coppers mates were laughing at him

police cosworths were cool IMO, i used to work with a bloke that done the volenteer copper stuff and his mate in traffic would always pick himup in the cosworth and they woul go perving down the big market on a friday night :king:

I'd RATHER have that Lambo after me than a Subaru to be honest, you'd lose neither on urban roads in the average stolen car but all you'd need to do is find some semi off-road country lanes and you'd lose the Lambo no problem.

eRRRRR!!!!! thick cunts, i don't think its the fact that is goes 200mph, its the fact it could get to 60 in under 4 seconds, makes it easier for the police to drive safely without losing the criminals.

But imo it is a waste of money, becuase they could buy a helicopter for that price and just follow them without any danger to anyone.

What they going to do.. chase a car with five helicopters and dangle crazy policemen from ropes?

They need to upgrade their cars.. but not at a cost of £300,000 each or whatever they cost.

Either I'm thick, or you're just not an undiscovered mastermind with a brilliant ploy that the whole policeforce hasn't thought of yet.

How could the plan you suggest work? You need cars to chase the getaway car in the first place.. then the helicopter comes. What if the getaway car isn't planning a 5minute trip around the corner? You just gonna hope the helicopter isn't going to have to travel to the other end of the country out of site of said car? What if the car disappears into a tunnel with lots of other cars in it..

    I could go on..

they'd be too scared to damage it so all you have to do is a bit of harsh driving and like someone said, go offroad

yeah you have cars chasing on the ground dumb ass but becuase of the eye in the sky they don't need to follow closely because the chopper tells them where to go, so the crims think they aren't being chased.

So you're telling me for every car crime in the country there should just be a helicopter chasing them with no police cars in persuit putting pressure on them to stop? Lets give everyone as much free time as possible to think of somewhere to hide.. What mode of sky camouflage do you suggest for the helicopter too?

you couldn't get a helicopter for that price, let alone pay to run it for more than one use ;)
