weren't you arguing the opposite of this a week ago when you were aligning yourself with chaos theory?

Everything can't be both constant and chaotic...

If you actually decided on a theory instead of spurting the latest ones you read it would make debating with you a hell of a lot easier ;)

has it not been proven that you CANT predict where any 1 particle is at any one time? i'm sure some scientist said this, hindesomething.... thats why transporters in 'star trek' would never work.

    or something. :dunce:

Therefore, if you knew the exact speed and position of every particle at the beginning of the universe, and had a big enough computer, you could calculate everything that would happen, right down to your own thoughts now

    your words not mine.

Andy I'm quoting you, I haven't put forward any of my own theories... I just found it comical that you called me confused when i was responding to comments you'd made :D

If my auntie had a dick she'd be my uncle...

    Re: Pointless

    Woah there lil donkey !

ok loose ! life is what you make of it , how you dela with situations , choices that you make and weather or not you have fun is down to you ... Yeah fine some people may live to work and be all about there jobs but what else do they have .... those of us whop work simply to earn enough money to ghet what we need and have a laugh are the ones whgo end up happy ... prime example you and the hubby .... neither of you know what you want to do for a living all you want is to have enough money to have fun and enjoy your marrige !

We are all here to simoply live .... to many people spend there time questioning there own exsistence instead of simply living life , its not about how much money you have , how many shags you got or how many times you climbed a mountain .... its about friends , family , love , fun and touching peoples lives .

    imho !

    :p

Again if my auntie had a dick she’d be my uncle…

Just admit that your first comment was idiotic, it’s like saying “if man acquired all the knowledge in the universe he’d know everything”… There’s no way of knowing whether you’d find the origin of the universe if you traced the path of every particle within this space time continuum… It’s a theory (and a weak one at that).

Andy your comment is like saying "If I asked g-d why he created man, I'd know the meaning of life"... Its nonsensical its based purely on ill-concieved assumption and moronic guess work.

You can't dismiss religion because of its lack of proof with one hand while introducing theories like this with the other.

I'm not passing judgement on your theories, I'm merely illutsrating your hypocricy :D

We just arent going to ever know are we?

Either way if we find out after this life if there is another, we cannot show this to each other and the people still living in this world.

Like I say, whats the point?

With regards to religion (not that this was what the thread was originally intended to discuss), lets look at it another way, who would be 100% happy that thier child was being taught predominantly christian beliefs in a school where this had not been advertised? I was taught in West Jesmond Junior School and there was no mention of religion in school - but we learnt about christmas, easter etc - not yom kippur and rosh hashana?

I do not want my children being brought up thinking that as they have learned something at school then this is completely the truth - I believe they should make thier own minds up -

leading to - why are children baptised and circumsised? I find this really odd when you consider the child is not even able to speak that someone else should choose his religion for another. - like how its hard to become a member of the Jewish faith - but you CAN become one - how does that work out if Jews are Gods chosen people?

I cant take it seriously, and yes, you may know a lot of religious scripture

"bob was the son of henry,
    henry the son of paul,
paul the son of OH MY GOD man!"

but really, what clarification or enlightenment does this bring when you both know that people bring thier own interpretations to religion in any case - so neither of you can 'debate' lets call it, about the level of correctness in anothers belief.

Man oh man, what has been started here!

 Andy this is getting tedious

    http://www.nucastle.co.uk/showthread.php?s=&threadid=60438&perpage=15&highlight=random&pagenumber=11

On that week you proposed that the universe was entirely random, this week you’re proposing that there is strict order that can be traced to the conception of the universe (and predict any future expansions).

Your position seems to shift to compliment whatever literature you’re reading at the time… This, my friend is blind faith.

The same could be said about why are children dressed in clothes, sent to school or permitted to watch TV.

Parents prepare their children for the society/culture they wish their child to exist within, surely that’s a parents prerogative?

my last post before lighting the shabbat candles.

you said g-d play's dice with the universe... if you're suggesting otherwise, thats fine we agree... but next time you enter a 21 page debate please enter with a degree of certainty.

thats what I said ......... except that the same is true of religion also.
I would never claim that any scientific theory is the whole and absolute truth since new discoveries can come along at any time,
You and monkey however claim that you have the whole and absolute truth based on nothing more than some old book and traditions handed down for generations.
Just believing it does not make it so
