Only person ive ever seen using hotcues was Gleave at Junior G - which admittedly sounded great at the time, you wouldnt have thought he was using them ......... but would anyone ever risk using them normally?

... for the price of 2 cdj's you could get a brand new laptop, an m-audio X-session controller and an external soundcard.

Its a hard one to justify these days buying all that kit when the laptop route looks alot more up to date, and 'cooler' ;)

... still, i have fond memories for my departed cdj's

Ive got a laptop, Xone 3d, Ableton Live 6, 1210's and a punchy as fuck sound system.

I like to have everything and the only thing im missing are some cool as fuck Pioneer CDJ 1000 mk3's.

Mixing between the lot of it will be class, im on a mission to turn a bedroom into the best DJ box in chester le street.

Another idea i have is to have a plasma wired up to the computer so i can have ableton running on that straight in front my face. :cool2:

    exactly!

    CDJ's are well overpriced imo

I like using them but what you can get for the same money is ridiculous!

So are decks, laptops and just about every other bit of djing equipment. If youve got the money and dont mind paying those ridiculous prices whats the problem?

there's currently MASSIVE legal wranglings at the moment in the House of Science about whether the 'decks room' should be some sort of laundry room afterall, stacking up PILES of washing is a much better use of space?!?!?!?? NNNNOOOOOOOOOOO!

    it's doesn't take up much room >>>>>

My days of rocking places with my awesome prog sounds are over :(

BASICALLY my hand was partially forced....

Vinyl was dying....not long beforehand I would have discussions on various DJ sites (which no longer run as it happens) and there was always fierce arguments as to the future of Vinyl.

Ultimately the CDJ became the toy to have....record sections were getting smaller, record shops closed, MP3 sites boomed

Decided that enough was enough - couldn't afford the CDJs and the cost of vinyl was like £8 - £10 for the tunes I wanted.....and investing that heavily i a quickly declining format wasn't sensible

So I sold up while I still could, and got a lot back for my gear...then sold all my records to a mate.

Perhaps one day I'll take it up again. Been about 20 months since I sold up.

    I'm a wasted talent :p
