i dont think you can claim back anythin at the moment. i think everythin is still on hold at the moment. cos altho the courtcase ruled in the consumers favour the banks hav appealed so nothin will be happenin till after that has been sorted.

cos i am owed back just over 2 grand :D

there is companys who do it all for ya. but they take 20% of what ya owed back as long as its over £800. but it saves you havin to fuck on wit sendin letters etc... and you just get a cheque thru ya door one day wit ya money :D

    oof what for this time?

i stopped all of direct debit's and now pay them manually by phone or internet - which means i can never go overdrawn and know exactly where my money stands. and i've never went over my limit since march :)

I work for Hsbc and deal with this sort of stuff every day. best way to find out if you're likely to be approved for an overdraft is if you phone customer telephone services or pop into your local branch, and they can check what your behaviour score is before they do a credit search. we give each customer a score depending on how well they run their account, if your score is above a certain amount, they can give you an indication if it's likely to be accepted.

in regards to charges, we don't charge you for your first overdraft, providing you have never went overdrawn before, but if you have, we will charge you a £25 arrangement fee.

same goes for renewal charges. we review your overdraft every 12 months, if you've behaved yourself, and never went over your overdraft and have managed your account well, you won't be charged. but if you haven't we'll charge you a renewal fee every 12 months.

as for going over your overdraft, or going overdrawn without an overdraft in place, we'll charge you £25 for each item that takes you overdrawn. so say you have 3 direct debits that take you over your overdraft, we can charge you £75.
There is a bit of discretion there tho, so say if the amount of one of your direct debits was for anything under £25, we wouldn't charge you. we may just charge you £50.

we can charge you upto £150 in charges each month if we need to.

    hope that helps :D

I've got my £1500 HSBC interest free overdraft maxed out, but they money is invested in a savings account elsewhere

As soon as it expires then HSBC will get repaid and will have heard the last from me.
