Orbit shutting?????????????

    hmm i think the sound system is v bad! Far too loud in some parts, and definitley doesn't filter through the club very clearly...sounds muffled and was the worst part about the club IMO

    Looks like the new venue will be The Cockpit in Leeds central.

    A very average venue. :(

    Nothing stopping The Foundation/Shindig techno night from being the best Techno night in the uk now then........ all they need to do is turn the lights out & get the smoke on.

    I was chatting to the lads from Shindig on Saturday afternoon bout this night. It's not gonna be monthly, UMEK has not been booked. They are gonna keep it on every now and again, big party with big names.

    It seemed very loud for Marco Bailey but for Sven Vath it seemed much quieter! :(

    they used to have v-strict sound restrictions years back, it was quite poor. I used to stick my head in the bass bins for full effect. Of late the sound had been crisp and v-loud

    At the moment it looks like it may happen 3 or 4 times a year, lots of wicked guests planned though....:wink:

    I've been checking the orbit webpage for weeks now, just waiting for something to happen! Only been once for Sven Vath and Justin Berkovi. Wud be gutted if it moved from the afterdark just wouldnt be the same!

    The Orbit is been made into a block of flats.

    I wont be going to any attempt at a Leeds city center rebirth.

    Richard Bartz is due to play at the Orbit on 21/05/2004!!! according to his webpage.

    So the Orbit must be re-opening!!!!

    Not sure if it's still at the Afterdark tho'.
