If that was supposed to be funny, you're really scraping the barrell.

I would (and hopefully will) research at Oxford, PhD, MPhil, etc.

And I'd seriously doubt that most educated people (talking about properly educated people, not people who went to a Comprehensive until they were 16) would find the prospect of Oxford boring.

It's just an ambition. Yours is to drive a van across America, mine is to study at Oxford.

Other things I'd like to do, I know I will (holiday in the Maldives, spend a full year in Ibiza, etc.).

This is why. In the Summer, it gets full of boring English tourists in union jack shorts and Ben Sherman shirts. It's still a beautiful place in the Summer, but you have to try harder to find places which aren't full of idots.

Ibiza is the most wonderful place in the world, and it's the distinctly Spanish areas and people which make it so. In the winter, you'll experience a proper Ibiza.

Several times. Have you been to Ibiza and watched planes land from the top of Dalt Vila, watched a sunset at Cafe Del Mar, or eaten seafood fresh off the boat, metres from where it's caught?

Yes I have seen the sunset there and I actually think its better elsewhere especially when youre not surrounded by a scruffy beach, snobby Cafe del Mar'ers and piss heads. Im funny with seafood so no I havent done that but Ive been on a boat in Ibiza and seen better views/places. And i dont really find plane watching fun anywhere. I much prefer train watching ;)

I suppose its just a matter of opinion but I dont find Ibiza that nice. :)
