    As I stated, anti-Zionism = anti-Semitism.

Why put words in my mouth? You were manipulating the terms Jewish and anti-semitism to suite your cause.... I corrected you.

my definition of anti semitic would be someone who discriminates against someone solely based on their jewish race. Someone who opposes the foreign policy of a sovereign state is not that.
If the term anti semite is taken to include those who disagree with what the Israeli state has freely chosen to do then I can see nothing wrong in that opposition and I think you degrade the word till it has no meaning.

Then your definition doesn't cover those that were accepted as soon as they dropped their Jewish religion.... You can't redefine anti-semitism to suit your belief spectrum.

You're the only person who's mentioned Israeli foreign policy... Where have i ever mentioned Israeli foreign policy when defining anti-semitism?

It's relevant to this discussion, as all forks, I and others have criticised is Israeli foreign policy and military tactics. Therefore, by labelling us as anti-Semitic, you have included it in your presumed definition.

Does criticising Israeli foreign policy make you intrinsically anti-Semitic?

Ha ha, what chance do we stand when strict orthodox Jews are now anti-Semitic?

You're unbelievable, their reading of the Torah is different to yours, and you label them anti-Semitic.

    and nor can you.....

you have to look at why racism is wrong. People cannot change their race and that is why it is wrong (and illegal) to discriminate against someone on that basis.
religion has no such protection in law precisely because it is a matter of personal choice. Therefore it is not intrinsically wrong to criticise the jewish religion any more than it is to criticise the christians.
If all anti semitism is is a criticism of a beleif system then whats wrong with that?

They're not reading the torah, they quote the talmud as justification for their antisemitism.

the torah is the word of g-d the talmud is the interpretation of man fused with the word of g-d.

If a white gentile denies the holocaust, accuses the jews of profiteering from the holohoax, blames the "few" jewish deaths in the holocaust on the Jews.... then he'd be classed as an antisemite.... why shouldn't jews be classed as antisemitic?

During the slave trade there were "house niggers" that cosied up to the boss'man for preferential treatment... just as there are self loathing jews that cosy up to the enemies of Israel.

I'm suggesting that your definition of it is so wide that my views would be labelled anti semitic by you. But I do not consider your definition to be reasonable.

    What are you talking about...

I was initially commenting on the antisemitic media bias... a media bias which I would describe as antisemitic - this has fuck all to do with your views on Israeli foreign policy?

My reasons for branding you an antisemite differ from my views of branding the BBC antisemitic :D

    what is my definition?

I've defined what a jew considers a jew and no more.

If you oppose Zionism you oppose Judaism.... But being critical and opposing are two seperate issues.... I can be critical of India without opposing indians, but as soon as I oppose the nation I become anti-Indian.

you have defined what you consider a jew. Any jew who has a different opinion is therefore a 'self hater' and so is anti semitic. It's a circular argument.
I can be in opposition to the Indian government without being a racist I can be in opposition to Hinduism or Sikhism or Islam or Christianity or yes even Judaism without being a racist. It's a philosophical or political position no more no less.
Being in opposition to someone solely because they have Indian race is racist and is imoral.

For starters, your definition is poor, as it does not define what 'belonging' to teh state of Israel entails - not being an Israeli national, not being born in Israel certainly. I actually think my definiton is better :D

I'm pleased to see you can be critical of India without opposing Indians.

I have been critical of Israel without opposing Israelis (or Jews for that matter, though I accept there is overlap), and I have not opposed the nation, as I have supported its right to exist.

Therefore, could you please explain, with reference to the apparent dichotomy above, why you label forks and me racist:D

    who's talking about racism?

    I'm talking about antisemitism.

First of all there is no Indian race, if you're opposed to Indians your oposed to a nation.... Just as if you're opposed to Jews you're opposed to a nation.

You may think it's better but its incorrect, the state of Israel is a modern creation, the nation of Israel has existed for millenia.

You are an ANTISEMITE (not racist).

this is just semantics. An anti semite, if it means anything, is someone who is prejudiced against those of the semitic race which in modern times has come to mean those of the jewish branch of that race.

If you are opposed to Israel you are opposed to a state not a race.

If you are opposed to religion you are anti religious even if this includes Judaism. You may find that position offensive but I assert my right in a free society to hold such views and to freely state them. You choose to hold other views and are free to state them.

What I do not do is act or speak (and I hope think) in ways which are prejudiced against you because you are a semite.

calling people anti semitic whenever you feel like it makes you look like a bigot

So, the Jews are not a race?

The US supreme court has ruled that they are. They are significantly related by genes.

Better than that, haven't you defined the Jews as a race on here before? I'm sure I remember reading it, but can't find the post :(

Therefore, to call someone anti-Semitic is to call them racist.

It's very poor that you use these terms without understanding them.

Not the one I wanted, but if your 'race' is not Jewish, could you please tell me what it is?

 for your incorrect allegations of racism.
