A Turntablist is some like dj Craze A-trax etc some who beat juggles scratches etc.

Not some one who is just a DJ and not a technical good one at that.

some awesome snobbery in this thread

JJ - awful music but thats just down to taste, dont think you can deny his ability as a (dare i say it) record breaker, radio presenter or business man.

Then your going down a road that you simply cant compare abilities E.g how the fuck can you beat juggle with Trance?

Technical abilities dont lie with the fact that you can Scratch or beat juggle mate, it can be how you work a crowd, build a set etc... it's a number of things, like Iv'e said im not gunna sit here & preach that Jules is a technical Wizard but the bloke can mix & has a reputation/following that backs it up with fact... as the saying goes - love him or hate him.

    ARRGGGGGGGGGGG

You don't get it do you Judge Jules is not a turntabalist.

Do you even know what a Turntabalist is to call him one is a joke.

I am simply pointing out putting it on flyer is a Lie.

I don't care if anyone rates him or not.

Turntablist - a DJ who can manipulate or restructure a record in combination with an audio mixer to produce a new composition that is unrecognisable from it's original form

DMC are introducing scratch live this year, so i wouldn't worry about the actual tablists being forward thinking - they tried to get cd's in to the battle a few years ago, but Technics fucked the dz1200 up, so the idea was binned.

Craze and A-trak both use scratch live, not vinyl

Lovin this Jules rant. For me, his current taste in tunes is a bit suspect and his mixing is even more so. He seems to go on and off. Proudy mentioned the Evolve he played.. and he was spot on that night, but at Crasher on Boxing Day he was all over the place.

I try not to be too critical though of the bloke who got me into it all, and for that i might just tag along to this night.

Who really gives a shit that he's marketed as a "turntabalist" - that's all it is, marketing. Half the people that are complaining about this trivial issue won't be showing their faces at the night anyway so why care?

As for Jules, haven't seen him in years and hardly listen to trance anymore, but I would probably be along at this night just for the crack, if I wasn't in Ibiza, as it's the day after payday. I don't care if there's charvers in, rahs, tramps or whatever. I don't really pay attention to clientele when I'm out having a good time and making the most of a night with my mates.

Somebody mentioned the mnml.com board being very snobby not long back on here. If people only checked this place out once in a while they'd probably think it was just as pretentious too.

I can't believe how much shit some local nights get up here.
