yes ironic indeed that we got wise to the habit scum who alledgedly threatened HABIT (Newcastle) but in a funny twisted way rather ironic when the head honcho at W34 said "my sources tell me that although DETOX is hugely successful its not the kind of event that my fledgling busines would want in here" after courting us to do an event there for about 4 weeks....now I wonder where that habitually came from now.....the only sure thing in this world is that most venue owners in clubland are dodgey as f**k how do you think most of them came by their money in the first place but what goes around comes around and I am a great believer in karma.

whats meant to be will be.

in the end this turned out to be a much better venue for this kind of event and it went right off

    :)

he wasnt the only person, one girl who shall remain nameless also had to leave cos she got so excited / battered that she too shat herself big time and had to go home to clean up....she returned an hour later completely resplendent in a new outfit

"DETOX....we make cubbers shit themselves lol" I am liking the slogan

I also note the distinguished absence of MR GARY PROUD who was on Activas guestlist....surely the local trance DON didn't party too hard friday and end up in a reet clip...

<apologies in advance if mr proud has the flue or something>

    awaits backlash x 1gazillion:facepalm:

"kids" these days - unable to have it 2 nights on the trot:wink:

ps: I have some priceless fottage of PURVY throwing some shapes to the prodigy's charlie during ALTERN8's dj set i was rather in shock as I had him down as a trance purist:eek:

Some great tuneage in the codgers room 2. Thought the local lads who I listened to in room 1 had the place rocking. Bar prices were well sweet. Seen plenty of known faces which always provides good bits of light/passing banter. Met & talked to a zillion new people.

    ANOTHER good party by TeamDetox

when I have the time which is almost never I am going to release the footage of earl completely "on one" busting out the best acid house dancing you will ever see in an old school room.

    I thought I was back in 1991.

Last night was brilliant - great venue, perfect for Detox-ness - the sweatbox old school room again was excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed playing B2B with Static again, I thought our set went down well and the crowd were properly jumping. Was great catching up with a few peeps, and had a right laugh. Detox's are ALWAYS memorable, but this one will be memorable for SHITty reasons!!!!

Altern8's Mark Archer was the pick for me. However, how can NJoi, respected old school DJ's with plenty of mileage, not bring headphones with them??????? the word diva springs to mind...

Anyway, here's to the next one!

in their defence they rang up midafternoon and said they had dropped a right bollock and had not packed their headphones lol

from some of the artists we have dealt with I dont think they are particular diva-ish they got by on 2 cans of red stripe each lol

compare to shatpack who were trying to shine a laser pen at the audience and refused the champagne that they had asked for

I would take NJOI every time, they never fail to deliver.
