People nowadays use the term OCD loosely but most things are just traits. To have the Disorder is actually very serious.

Thats tame compared to more severe ocd.... the complusions (the rituals) are the easy part... its the obsessions that mess people up.

If youre flicking the light switch a few times or checking your locks then its nowt to worry about... if you get the obssessions its meant to be one of the harshest mental disorders there is

Absolutely. Most people have little rituals, orders they do certain things in, that kind of thing, and it feels all wrong if things aren't done in their usual way.

Smiley - I don't think you have OCD, just perhaps a mild paranoia about your memory (hence keeping checking whether you have done stuff).

Half the time I can't even remember if I've shut the door, let alone locked it. This is because it is so routine that you don't really notice doing it.

i do this, but surely thats just normal yeah? pain in the arse having to go back in the house, or realising you've forgot something

jay used to have really bad ocd when he was younger, where he used to wash his hands all the time  but he's grown out of it, he just does really daft little things now, like you cant leave a knife and fork crossed on a plate, when you change the volume of something it has to be an even number and not odd. its proper mad

My mam had this real bad when I was a baby, she used to wash her hands every 5 minutes, bleach the whole house everyday, she even used to bleach her way up the stairs into bed every night.

She also used to bleach my cats paws when it had been outside  to 'get rid of the germs'

Yes think he has it pretty bad, as a result of childhood trauma when he saw his best mate get killed by a car.

    Beckham has it aswell.

It's a crazy thing to have like. They have weird rutuals that they have to stick to or they think things will happen. Like brushing there teeth in a certain way.

    Yeah, Gazza has it.

My cousin has it. Food is a big obsession with him.

He has to have everything seperated and he can only eat one thing at a time. Its well odd. If we get food out and everything is slopped on top of each other he wont eat it at all.
