No, it isn't bollocks. Look it up. They are both mint, and I have owned both. I prefer the Technics. You are being waaaay too defensive! Im not really bothered what you prefer, but perhaps knowing the actual facts would be beneficial! Enjoy using ur pitch
This argument is testament to the fact people should be buying CD decks instead of doing the Technics TT's vs the world argument over and over again.
This argument could go on for ever... Technics are the best decks money can buy Vestax are ok too Anything else is a waste of money
agree with ya apart from the last bit mate i used to have kam decks when i first started playing out and ive never EVER had problems mixing on technics or vestax for that jimmy owns a pair of vestax but never has a problem mixing on technics either so i just dont get any of this if you play out you NEED technics imo i say bollox to that ''cool'' theory just the other day i was round at my sis and my lil nephew has just got his first decks belt drives and i had a shot with him and guess what i had no problem mixing on those either had to keep adjusting them like as they kept slipping out but its not about the decks its about the dj using em i say rant over anyway
they are terrible decks i,ve used them.the pitch is unresponive.if you cant change the pitch accurately you cant match the beats...which tends to be quite important
I can play on any decks but just find it so much smoother and less ajustment on the pitch needed on technics and i find most other decks have either too much Torque (Vestax) or to little (Gemini, Kam, Numark)
I think the most important thing about decks is the pitch control and technics have NEVER been beaten on this, you cant ajust and keep pitch then you cant beat match properly, Who gives a shite about striaght arms and fancy 10000% pitch control Its all about strong sturdy and reliable decks and in that sence you CANT beat 1210's
^^^^^ what that man said I have no problems mixing on other decks... i find vestax very easy to mix on, which must say something about them, but the point in me selling mine was, the difference in pitch and how easy to do things.... and for anyone who doesnt just turn up and seamless mix while covering up stuff with efx, its just a pain in the arse to get adjusted. Technics, the turntables for playfull djs
not sure if there was anything i could have done with mine as it was a long time ago now, might have thought twice about selling them if i could
its not a factory mod or anything to do with vestax, I just got annyoyed with the changeover between technics and 'stax and wasnt about to downgrade on the torque. 10 mins later they were both changed to 8%. Was thinking about going down to 6% like on the cdj, but it would have been annoying in the long term.
not sure i could have done that with mine, they were 3% 6% or 12% if i remember right... didnt think about opening them up at the time tbh
agreed, i use gemini ones at home, when i landed in the final of the last promise comp it was kinda tricky to do anything half decent infront of lots of people ,when i had never ever used technics decks before in my life lesson learned the hard way i did get the hang of them after about the 3rd track but i only played about 3 1/2 half tracks anyway as we ran out of time, so it was a bit of a pisser just buy the technics and be done with it
unless you know deep down your fucken shit and your never going to get anywhere, ever in that case buy the one with the most "easy peasy" modes you can find
