to a bouncer...one wrecked punter is no different to the other, as i said, they do their job well, if maybe a little harsh, but to be in that kind of job you need to put on a hard exterior, every1 is a twat until proven otherwise! They are very efficient bouncers, and do a good job of keeping torags out!

I think the original point is that in any other market if you treat your customers the way the doorstaff in clubs treat people in clubs that you would loose them. I have seen doorstaff at various clubs doing some pretty nasty things.

If a 16-year-old kid came into our shop and stole something, and the boss gave him a good kicking for it I'm sure there would be hell to pay. Yet bouncers seem to get away with this thug-like behaviour on a daily basis.

I'm very much on the fence on this one...I know they have a tough job but at the same time that's no excuse for some of the things they do to people...

i've got to agree with u there...i've seen some visious things done by bouncers & the person may have deserved a punch of 2 but not some of the hidings i've seen...i've known camera's 2 have sbeen switched off so that when the lid who got the kicking went to the police there was no evidence to support his claims & funnily enough the member of staff hadn't left the bulding all nite...

i've also seen an off duty bouncer trying to chew someones ear off...i was a bit too close for comfort since i was underneath the bloke who was being munched on at the tmie after he'd landed on me after the bloke had punched him.... i had several rude words with the doorman later on that nite...his response to me was don't u know who i am...like he had the rite to do that sort of thing...so i said no & i don't really give a fuvk who u are...u've give me a fucking dead leg!! :evil:

Completely untrue. The guys from Phoenix Security at Ikon are exceedingly professional, friendly, and they're also licensed and have their BII. Four things which fuck all bouncers at bars and clubs in Newcastle demonstrate.

In almost every city, the magistrates normally check that all doorstaff employed by a club have their BII and are licensed on renewal of a license (every three years) and also by random stop-checks. Doesn't seem to happen in toon for some reason... probs because it's always been gorilla pricks pumped up on test on the doors. Maybe's that might change as the council takes over the licensing roles

Most of the doorstaff at foundation are well sound, and do their job well. Unfortunately a couple there give the whole lot of them a bad name. I haven't really enjoyed myself at the club since January, still paranoid I'm gonna get lifted and twatted again.

I think the doorman at Foundation are sound as fuck and there banters class !

I have taken bad before and they helped me out and then made sure i was ok for what had happened !

I was talking about this the other day with me mates and basically for what they see etc in there they do well, when they see that someone is a mess or lying down/slouched they will just go over and make sure they get them to sit up, not just pick them up and hoy them out like some places would!

We just generally know them off going and we have a laugh with the ones that you recognise !

They picked me up and hoyed me out in February for that.

I must speek on behalf of the door staff i know lots of them quite well and they dont give you any shit !!

Anyways, back to the bouncers. I have a good friend who about 5 years ago got really badly beaten up by a bouncer! He had to have metal plates inserted into his face, in order to recover and remake his face.

Time went on, he recovered and put the bastard in Jail - got £10,000 from the whole thing and set up a studio. He's now one of the 'well-known' DJ's in this country. But my point is, theres no need for the security staff to treat anyone this way, being nice never hurt anyone. And surely its best to be nice first, then use a more agressive approach if necessary?

Some of the story's i'm now hearing about bouncers is just shocking....
