exactly mate let them have their little bit of glory, cos we all know they'll be knocked down to earth when they get in the premiership, they have a team of average players, no money, they wont last long
I didnt say I didnt care at all. Im just a bit pissed off at the mo. There's a huge difference. Its all well and good saying you support a team through good and bad, which I have done since I was ten. That doesnt mean I can't complain when things go wrong though, does it? In fact, I feel sorry for the people who can't see the wood for the trees and think that everything involving Newcastle is fine and dandy and that we shouldn't voice our opinions when things go wrong. Surely that type of thinking can't be healthy for either party. If we all did that, nothing would ever change. When things go wrong, I'm bound to criticise considering how much time/money/love I put into the club. I think I have a good right to do so. I'm sure you have been the same with Sunderland in the past. Just because I criticise my team doesnt mean I dont support them any less though. In fact, the fact that I criticise them probably means that I care more, not less. If I were to give up my season ticket, burn all my NUFC stuff and never set foot inside St James again, then you'd have a point. I haven't tho. Nor do I intend to. I'll support the club all my life but, as I say, you can only take so much before you start to criticise your team and justifiabily so. That isn't a sign of a bad supporter though. Any supporter of any team has probably done/will do the same in his or her lifetime.
You have all spat your dummies out ! Now that you have lost a few games and are playing badly you dont care anymore. Last week you were in two semi finals all smiles and happy, now look at ya's ! Wot a difference a week makes. Keep it up!
I just meant at the minute these games mean nothing. It's like Pre-season or something, cuase they don't really matter. We're not really going to get into Europe, which I'm not even that bothered about, cause I'd like us to have a season just focusing on the League. Last time we did it, we got into the Champions League. I will be buying my season ticket this season, but surely every fan thinks about paying £500 to watch a mediocre team play?
I wasnt. I wasnt. We fluked a few results without playing any good football, and against some poor opponents, and some daft people thought all was rosy in the garden. I think the people who know the crack were never fooled.
I see what u mean i s'pose. But look at it this way. Each league postion above where u currently are is wortth an extra £500,000
you gotto support your team thru thick and thin, no good just throwing the towel in cos your teams mediocre.
can you not fucking read or something? where have any of us said 'we arent supporting them?' the point all of us are trying to make is that we wish this season would just fucking end so we can get on with the 'rebuilding' in the break.
But you still have doubts about paying such a high price to go and watch it though! No matter how much I love them, it's still not worth the money we pay for it. It's fucking ridiculous. I hate the fact that I'm lining people's pockets like Kluivert, Babayoro, Dyer, etc, etc. Why the fuck should I?
it would boil my piss. and it did back when alen boksic was taking home £67'000 a week for playing 12 games a season.
Exactly. Why should I be giving ***** like that, part of my hard earned cash? It's not just the players either though. It's the likes of Douglas Hall, taking £2 Million or so diviends, etc aswell, for doing fuck all!
Now you know how Sunderland Supporters felt when we had Flo, Michael Gray, Medina and Nunez on sky high wages playing shite and with no heart week in week out. Also Bob Murray has been a shambles in his time at Sunderland especially geting the likes of Howard Wilkinson in as manager and letting Peter Reid get a massive pay off and keep his shares in the club. PLUS being in 30 million debt, selling nearly all your first team squad and finishing bottom of the prem on the lowest points ever. I would love to see if you still supported Newcastle United nevermind go to the games if you had to put up with wot Sunderland supporters have had to over the years.
Dont talk such shit, when i first had a season ticket which was the 88/89 Season then your talking rock bottom NUFC One of the only chants at the ground was "Sack the board" who was Gordon Mckeag and co, John Hall was around but not what he then became and it was bad times with at the time decent ish players under Jim Smith who didnt perform. Your going on as if Sunderland are one of the only teams to go thru hard times saying what you have then when its not true at all, Newcastle for one went thru v.v. difficult times and nearly into liquidation at one point cos i remem there being some decision and me fucking off from school early for the Chronicle And by the way i supported them as much as i do now if not more - the only reason i didnt get a season ticket the season after Keegan left was cos there was no need, getting it 88/89 Season was more security as shit as we were The Video for that seasons - Beasant / Thorn / Robertston / Jackson and the likes...
exactly... people often forget the shit we've been through, we havent always been financially strong! this fall from grace we are currently experiencing is going to piss off a lot of people, but trust me, people will keep on supporting, we always do.
Edit : It was Willie Mcfaul the manager under Mckeag & Co, it was after them that the bald eagle and Ardilles come in before Keegan
