Thanks for the advice guys, need to phoen up tomorrow to arrange it like so not sure if they'll jsut do it there nt hen or when i phone up, i assume itll jsut be to ask general uestions like most of the app forms ask and then go on to an assess centre type thing if i get through. It's one of the jobs I'd prefer though cosI wanna be absed up there so hope it goes OK.

my Mrs had the graduate tests last week. she said they were hard...

I've been trying to, just been practicing my maths, I used to be really good at maths but don't really do much maths at uni so not as good as I used to be.

What scheme have you applied for, I'm going for the marketing scheme.

I've been told after the tests theres another assessment day with role plays and problem solving activities ect

It doesn't really seem that organised in my opinion, I phoned up today to arrange the interview and she wanted to do it there and then but I was in Uni so I couldn't so she said she'd try and ring me sometime over the weekend, wtf is that all about, can just imagine her phoning whilst I'm out on the piss or something!!!!

I imagine the tests will be hard for it cos I think there is massive demand for the jobs and don't think they will have that many, although the demand will probably br higher for the general management and the marketing one rather than treasury i would think, not sure if that's right though?!

There is around 20-25 grad places for Treasury/Marketing/Sales and Management.

Not easy at all to get in.

i would say that about bt tbf...heard good n bad things bout all employers but you gotta try for yourself tbh.

Had my telephone interview today and got through to the test stage, so got 3 hours of tests on Monday at 9am

ur right there, i got to the last 10 for the management places last year... not easy at all!! the moneys not that gr8 for a grad scheme either, but the promotion prospects are quality!

Yeah they told me 17,595 i think, not as much as some of the others I'm going for but it's not all about the money, I want a job up here and Northern Rock have excellent prospects.

We'll see, there's a long way to go yet!

Got a letter this morning inviting me to the assessment centre on 18th April (bit inconvenient ilike) where I have a day of group exercises and a presenation, which is;

Northern Rock treasury is not run as a separate profit centre but rather as a service centre for the bank. Prepare a presentation that could be given to the main board of directors of Northern Rock where you discuss the major challenges facing the treasury department over the next 2 years.

If anyone has any ideas that could help, would be appreciated, obviously going to do some research on it, and how long do you think they expect it to be, I'm guessing between 5 and 10 minutes??!!!
