    Re: Nice Sunday Dinners

Ness's mams house in Stakeford does the nicest sunday dinners in the UNIVERSE.

Imagine settling down on the comfy sofa in front of 'enders/other sunday shit with a nice big glass of wine, putting your feet up and smelling some damn fine dinner.

Then imagine being called through to get some chicken skin, or crackling before the dinner. It tastes good. Your mouth waters as you can smell the yorkies in the oven and the gravy on the hob.

Your name is called as you arrange youreself at the dinner table. In front of you is a maaaaasive oval plate piled high with lashings of gravy smothering your creamy mashed potatoes, proper mushy peas, soft chunks of carrot nestled in between sprouts (even they taste good) maybe a bit of parsnip or cauliflower, even cabbage if we are lucky, all topped off with a nice yorkie or two. Then comes the chicken. The succulent juicy chicken steaming hot with gravy poured over the top. Or beef, with just a cheeky little bit of mustard on the side.

Never in my life have I tasted sunday dinners like this woman can cook. I live for sundays, they are astounding. I enjoy every second, and very very rarely leave any food at all. The best bit is using the spoon to get all your home-cooked meat-juice gravy with bits of mash and peas and not leaving a pattern on the plate.

This my friend, is the way sunday dinners are meant to be.

Shame you can't have any, ay?
