    Not a disaster.

Hopefully we can get some injured players back for the second leg and get a bit of pace in the team.

Robert had a shocker tonight. He really is only on the pitch to take set pieces it seems. Absolutely shocking he was!

Woodgate outstanding. Shearer also did very well indeed, held the ball up superbly, though he missed Bellamy.

Ameobi did ok, he played through injury and had a go.

    Really sorry Chris mate.

Wasn't impressed with Robert at all! Shola was even worse, the fucking donkey!

Still shud have won tho. They were nothing out of the ordinary. At least we're still in with a chance.

    Woodgate was superb. :king:

don't think we faired too bad considering....woodgate was by far the best player on the pitch for us...

like what robson said to arsenal when they wanted to buy him...'aye, you can have him but we want henry, viera & a few pound!'

Robert certainly isn't any good for those watching with heart problems!! He generally crap 87mins of a game and puts a couple of cracking crosses in the other three mins.

    Woodgate! Just amazing!

I thought Shearer was class tonight too. Held up play very well.

AMBROSE SHOULDN'T EVEN BE IN NEWCASTLE!! HE'S SIMPLY NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO BE PLAYING AT THIS LEVEL!

how can u say that! he was one of the harder working players last night, put the effort in down the wing made some really good runs, remember the lads only 20, coming in playing at a higher level than the first division where he came from. give the lad a chance

you boys did well last night. I thought it was an absorbing match. Marseille were a cut above PSV though - they were really well organised and Drogba impressed me. Woodgate was superb and Bernard always looks good to me. Don't know why Ameobi is slagged off by you lot  he always looks good to me - never loses the ball - his hold up play is superb - you should appreciate him more

A clean sheet was the most important thing last night as it means if you remain unbeaten in france you go through. Though I think Marseille might nick it by the odd goal at home

terry i think you were watchnig what you wanted to c....ambrose played a canny match...looked a bit tired mid way thru the 2nd half...but i bet u wud've been tired too!

i also think that those who are slaging ameobi off are very unjust...he played alright last night, baring in mind the lad wasn't fully fit...he tried his best & luck wasn't on his side most of the time...

Out in the sticks cool as fukk gang! :)
i think ambrose played brilliantly... made a few errors, but in general his work ethic was fantastic, he gave his all out there and (especially in the second half) gave them something to think about.

he will one day be a great, great player for this club... i saw last night as one of his big steps into becoming the player he can be...

and i agree about ameobi, it's taken a while but i think he has found his role... holds the ball up well, and aint too bad at turning defenders - something our other attackers aint so good at.

in general - i think the team came on leaps and bound last night... showed under great pressure what that team can actually be...

but i just wish robert would come good. :(

I only remember him being in the game for ten minutes and that was when he was putting his crosses in the crowd. In fact, I don't think I've seen him put a good ball in for weeks! He forgot to track back on a few occasions too. I hope you lot are right. I hope he comes good and proves me wrong.

Yuck!.... The thought of the way Robert gave the ball away before Drogba rattled the post. Never seen a crowd shout at a player like that since Silvio Maric.

Drogba is defo one of the best players I've watched this season. His movement was incredible. Considering he was up there on his own. Did you see the way he muscled O' Brien out the way to create that headed chance?
