I agree that we wont get the 40 odd thousand fans we have been averaging this year if we go down

But it will only be the plastic fans you lose - those people who only go because it looks good to have a credit card shaped season ticket in your wallet (and I know a few)

For having search a nightmare season this year you would have expected the attendances to drop quite abit - but I dont think they have compared to the attendances over the past 3 seasons - or even the Souness era

The atmosphere in the first half on sunday was the best its been all season at home, i had no voice left. Mind you the main reason behind that was fucking martins, had him first goal, why didn't he leather it like he always does with his left peg?

your right mate, can't predict anything at the minute the way things are going, but newcastle fans will always go to the match, its part of fucking life up here.

I cant see yous going down to be honest,2 or 3 wins and you will be in a respectable position.Im still worried we will go down as I cant see any banker games left for us

No such thing as a banker game at this stage of the season, but if we play like we did against Arsenal for the first 45 against the likes of Boro, Pompey... theyl give themselves every chance.

relegation would be a diasaster no doubt about it

ive been through 2 relegations in my time and crowds dropped well below 20.000 for long periods of time can you imagine the ground not even half full week in week out

It was a strange one to say the least... having said that Owen was non existant against Hull the other week, I heard his name mentioned about twice from the commentator, he ended up being brought off after 70 minutes which imo was far too late in the game.

...Houghten was probably wanting a squad in it for the fight rather than their horses.

Didnt Owen come on before Ameobi?

Sure Owen came on for Taylor & Ameobi came on for Lovenkrands

Either way - Im sure Owen ended up playing in midfield & Bambi was selling hot dogs somewhere

His contract runs out in the summer and you can bet your bottom doller he wont sign a new one, so hel be leaving for nix, injured or not.

I agree he aint really a fighter but by fucking god neither is Ameobi. Surely if hes fit Owen has to start, can get you a goal from nothing. And we need those now more than ever.

There has been talk of newcastle possibly bringing a manager in for the remaining 8 games as hughton is a good coach but hasn't got a clue when it comes to matchdays.

    (allegedly)

The dont have a couple of weeks to wait, surely Calderwood would be better taking charge till hes back though, I know hes not a great manager but he does have a bit experience
