I dont think we can afford to let any players go to be honest. Milner hasnt asked to leave so I cant see why we'd sell him when our squads as thin as it is. IMO we still need a target man, a creative midfielder, defensive midfielder, another central midfielder as back-up (depending on the Barton situation), back-up for Beye, another left back and a centre half to partner Faye or Taylor. Then we might be able to start thinking about pushing for an Intertoto/UEFA cup spot

i think its shocking that they havent made a firm offer for Evans yet, especially with the dirty people sniffing around him

Michael Owen has played for both Liverpool and Real Madrid, and has never scored over 21 goals in the league and cup, so what makes you think he can do it for us?

Martins is good on his day, but he's definitley not world class and will not get us 25 goals in a season. The most he's ever scored in a season is 17, so I don't think you're right, sorry for being pessimistic.

Thats because Michael Owen has never been fit for a full season.

How do you know we havent?? ;)

The club wont comment on any transfers at all until the deal is complete, its been a slow market though and its just starting to really get going now.

The time to judge is august 16th (or even after - remember KJ wasnt signed until 3 games in last season) and theres plenty of time yet.

Its club policy to not comment on any transfers until theyre done now, hence all the guesswork put in by the papers linking us with about 50 players so far this summer

The question with Evans is whether SAF will let him go (for any price). If he will then theres no doubt in my mind that Evans would love to come back permanently, and said so himself last season.

When the players were doing their lap of honour after the Arsenal game the whole stadium was up singing 'one Jonny Evans', an awesome sight and shows just how highly hes regarded up here to recieve that ahead of any other player on the pitch.
