Habit is one of the best nights in town for all the reasons stated above.

And obviously I'm a bit biased but Cosmic Ballroom sounds exactly like the sort of club a lot of you are looking for.

Small and dark with a wicked soundsystem, big enough to cope with 300 people but small enough not to feel too empty with only 100.

Me and Steve Linney have been around for a long time as clubbers, DJs, producers and now promoters so are trying to offer an alternative night in FRAGILE that hopefully ticks all the boxes.

We're deliberately not sticking to one style or for A list DJs but are still bringing some of the best, most innnovative DJs and producers to Newcastle that we can afford.

Some of the DJs we've got lined up over the next few months include Deepgroove, 'Evil' Eddie Richards, Dave Mothersole and we'll also be providing opportunities for local DJs to play out whenever possible.

I'd advise you all to come down to check DEEPGROOVE out on Weds 5th April to see if Cosmic Ballroom is what you're looking for.

I would just like a night where a lot of people went and supported it, like a couple of people have said...its shouldnt be a huge deal who's on but it seems like all people care about now...

They dont care about the club or whos going just so they can see a certain dj and you usually just end up having a shit night anyway.

I went to Vuzz loads and Promise and near the end wasnt even bothered about the music really, its all about the people and the night itself!

Si what you said sounds like a really good idea. Nights with more of a variety will do better than just a single trance night I would imagine, thats what was good about Twisted Logic - lots of mates together with some house trance and techno :wiggle:

    I miss little nights :(

As Paul so eloquently put it - Fragile @ Cosmic Ballroom should be right up your street

The only drawback with FRAGILE is that it's on a Weds night at the mo, but it's only once a month so I'm sure we could all afford to be a little bit tired for work / college / uni the next day.

I'm 100% convinced that if you all went down to Cosmic Ballroom you'd love it regardless of what night you went. It's got all the right ingredients.

Also, if you want a small underground party where the atmosphere is mental every time and the music and DJs are wicked check out Riff Raff @ The Purple Onion in Middlesbrough.

does 'Fragile' cater for the harder crowd? and by harder, i don't just mean HH - trance is seen by the house jocks as way too fast so can't see SOME of the old Promise punters being a big fan.

playing everything under the dance umbrella in one night could also have it's problems.

i don't mind most styles, if there's people there i know, i'l go most places - and do even if the music isn't up to my taste - however it won't keep me coming back. Newcastle, at the moment, doesn't cater for what i really want to go out and listen to

Deepgroove and Eddie Richards can both play pretty hard like (as can me and Steve) but I suppose the music will vary between 125bpm and just over 130bpm.

But if the crowd want it harder I'm sure we can give them harder (within reason).

The thing I've come to realise over the years is that it doesn't have to be fast to be hard. :D

The music policy of our night is 'Forward Thinking House, Tech-House & Breaks' with a bit of acid, electro and prog thrown in for good measure.

Suppose you need to listen to either mine or Steve's mixes to see if you like what we do.
