Just 2 questions, having never been :

    1) WHERE is the cosmic ballroom?
    2) WHAT was it before?

Someone said it's part of the pink scene - that could be great - keep the uneducated riffraff oot!

Sorry but total fucking bullshit pet. If that was the case then people would want there fucking heads testing because dance is about the music not which feckless idiot is cueing up the tunes. I'd go out any day of the week and see anybody playing and it wouldn't matter to me, but then I'm not a saddo DJ worshipper.
Having a good night out has as much to do with the people you are out with then it does the name on the door.

In the early days of promise, i remember quite well how absolutely RAMMED it was ........ and i'd like to bet 80%+ of the punters didnt have a clue who was playing.

Unfortunately, alot of the younger clubbers have joined a scene dominated by DJ's instead of Clubs - and seem to think that a night out being a success is purely related to whoeever is headlining.

Sorry chris UK - completely disagree.

you know the crack mate, dont get me wrong i think its an added bonus if the mixes are cracking but any fukin idiot can learn how to do it, no meanin to piss on me own chips like coz am doin a comp on tuesday nd its been a few weeks since i used a pair of tekniks but you are right, the music and atmosphere are wot matters

Totally agree. When I first started clubbing, most of the time no-one cared who was on (unless they were either very well known, or totally shit), just what the club night itself was like!

Spot on mate! Couldn't agree more! People bum the arse off DJ's and forget that DJs are basically just human record changers and it's the tunes that should be bummed!

didn't she get cauaght powdering her hooter in promise and then asked to collect her money and fuck off

 @ ppl in this thread asking for big named dj's. fools.

if this night goes ahead (and i for one, hope to hell it does) half the ppl on here won't even bother themselves to go anyway because the dj that is on, they haven't heard of. Same thing happened with Vuzz @ Mono. all involved with vuzz tried there hardest to get a decent night going but when they got decent djs on, Ronski Speed, Misja Helsoot etc the place was almost empty.

    bless ya brid :)

Respect to Danny/Mark/Scott, there were times when we used to do Clear Bar on a Sunday night and there would just be us in there, proper demoralising but they kept going and now look

My way of thinking is that if your residents are naff then your customers will only come to nights when the guest takes their fancy and you may struggle to gain a regular crowd base.

Look at nights like Shindig, Fabric Saturdays and even Promise: it doesnt really matter who is playing because you just know that the residents are going to be wicked (Shindig: Scott, Scooby, Neil......Fabric: Craig Richards, Terry Francis........Promise: Richard Tulip)

There have been so many times when I have enjoyed the resident set more than the guests set.

Using Local people is great but you need to have them working alongside attractive names as its very rare when a night will sell out with just local names (unless you have that established brand)
