Why/Do do/the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries go & get oil from other countries when they have the black stuff themsleves? Also which countries do they go to & rob from?

It would be no surprise if Hugo Chavez was doing what you are saying.

What do you think the war in the middle east is about right now.

We sit on our reserves (coal and gas) and then go and steal someone elses - its nothing more than what we've been doing for thousands/millions of years (romans, normans, vikings etc etc).

Pike, I used to work for Tesco Telecoms selling mobiles, and we had a similar policy to Argos.

It is simply because of immigrants and those asians buying up whopping loads of stock and selling them on for more in their corner shops or shipping them off to another country etc... I do know one store was rumoured to have had investigations into some groups of asians and terrorism activity.

Seriously, Everyday we would get the same 2 asian guys enter the store and try to buy as many cheap phones as possible which were on offer. It always seemed to be nokia (as these were the easiest to unlock). Eventually we were told by management we could refuse these sales, call security or just give them one phone each (which is what we did as the choice was up to us). The original policy was no more than two phones at anyone time to any customer were to be sold.

As for the top ups, we used to do the offer of £10 with each phone simply because Tesco made no profit on the sale of the phone only on top ups.
Then it got to the point where the Asian scammers would visit different stores to try and cash in on these top ups by returning the phones and keeping the top ups (in essence getting the top up for free!!). To show you how wide they were, I used to work in the Telecoms shop in store and if they couldnt get more than one phone they would pick a phone up off the shelf (or as many as poss)and take them down to the checkouts instead to try and get them that way....obviously by that time security had pounced on
    them.

Just thought id share that with yous all as ive had a lot of experience with these scammers.

I am not sure how you got to that but I was passing comment on your post that said "OPEC" (Probably paki's or immigrants) go over to other countries and pump stuff out the ground for pennies". I dont think OPEC do that (or if they do it is minimal compared to what they are pumping out of there country) & the companies such as Shell & BP which drill in OPEC countries do not pay pennies for the privilege either.

"We" sit on our reserves!?!? Really so companies like British Gas, Npower, Scottish Power are doing deals with most of Eastern Europe to get stuff either from that country or for it pass through that country when they could be saving themselves a lot of hassle & just get here. Could it be a case of "WE" not sure who that is make it very expensive to get coal & gas so it may be fuck on but it works out cheaper to deal with Eastern Europe.

Of course we sit on our reserves. Maggie Thatcher closed the pits because in her own words it was cheaper to buy it from abroad than it was to dig it out the ground. It was TOO inconvenient having a unionised workforce (which im not the biggest fan of, but at least it keeps jobs inside a country) calling the shots.

Britain is a post industrial society. We are a service based economy, bar a few dregs of a manufacturing industry that people higher up have done a wonderful job of shipping off to china - THATS why we rely on getting things from abroad so we have a vested interest in making sure the supply of that is as cheap as possible, and as controlled as possible.

Thats why we have wars, and why we have companies making billions of pounds per quarter pre tax profits.

Why else would a puppet leader from an oil company be put as prime minister as Afghanistan as soon as we 'liberated' their country.
