If you want to spend under £100, 6600gt is probably the best acrd you'll get.

I have a top end gfx card and I can only play it at just above average- 1280 x 1024 with some AA & AF so I think you might need more than a £70 card

I dunno what the minimum spec required is for this but

A radeon 9800 Pro is probably your best best for that sort of money- is one hell of a card for that price

Can get one new on ebay around £70

    Nope..

    Go for a 6600GT if you don't get a 6800GT.

    Have a look here

FEAR is an immensly demanding game..

Agreed.. this game is immensly demanding of your machine.
    I have a 2800+ @2.3ghz, 1GB DDR400 @ 420 and a 6800GT clocked at 410/1200..

and I still don't get that good a frame rate.

However your running a better cpu..
If you run at 1024x768 with a little aa and 16xaf then it'll look lush on a 6600gt.. especially since (i think) FEAR has sm3 optimisation..

hey man hew man what you tryin to do man!

all i've seen there is the link to pc world which was, the last time i checked, a shitty place to buy pc parts from. I'm not sure if they've changed their ways but it used to be overly priced for people who no better.

Can you run Fear in 1280 x 1024 on your 6800gt? I have the same graphics card and can only run it at 1024 x 768 although I can't really tell any difference at all.

It doesn't even give me the option, which is odd.

The sounds one FEAR are fucking quality. Creepy as fuck.

Yeah sorry that was a gay comment for me to post as it only allows 1280 x 960..

I'm actually running it at 1600x1200 with a few of the details turned down and only 2xaa and 8xaf.

Was gettin confused with Q4 (which incidently is a far superior game!)
