Webba I've figured out how to stop the jump thing - when you change gear let go of the accelerator first then dip the clutch.. smooth. Getting it fixed this weekend fingers crossed.
I'm taught to drive like that webba, but everyone doesn't? You lose speed if you do that.. if the engine is connected to the wheels when you let go of the accelerator it lurches forward and sharply slows down, especially in first. My instructor taught me to do it that way as it doesn't wear the clutch half as bad. I'm pretty sure you yourself do a little balance with both feet on the pedals (for at least a split second) whilst changing gear rather than doing one foot then the other..
i do that anyway.. but in this instance i have to do it for longer.. make sure there's no friction when dipping the clutch..
Nass, I wouldn't spend much on it mate. Decent for a little run about but spending money on stuff fopr it won't be cost effective, and you'll never see a return. Trust me. When I was 18 I bought my first car, an AXGT for £650. It was fcuken battered. Eventually spent about £900 on maintanence over the year I had it. Was class when I sold it, but I sold it for £850. I'm no used car salesman but I think thats bad business!!! I bought a Renault 19 16v when I was 19 and had it ever since. DONT BUY AN OLD RENAULT, DONT BUY AND OLD RENAULT, DONT BUY AN OLD RENAULT, DONT BUY AN OLD RENAULT, DONT BUY AN OLD RENAULT, lol. The costs on running this overweight, ugly-arsed French piece of toss are unbelievably. Looks like you have a canny deal though, £175 is good. You can just Tipp-Ex the rust spots and no one would be any the wiser Good luck with driving mate, if i ever see you (in my rear view mirror) i'll toot and wave.
if it were me, id not do anything to it at all except make it pass its mot`s far better to wait till you older and get sumthing worth tarting up with a few years no claims behind you been there and done that and wish i hadnt chucked so much cash at my 1st nova (which i blew up 2/3 hours after getting on the road abd then wrote off 2 hours after getting it back on the road with a new engine ) 3/4 years back i had a nova in max power , looking back i would have been far better off saving my pennies and bidding my time, i flogged the car for a half decent price, the next lad had it 1 year and it fell apart ,lol
I have to agree here mate, just treat the rust, sand fill and spray, make sure its road worthy, if u sort the rust out itll look nice. Ive just finished my front prop shaft fitting woohoo! Had a go on the rolling road whilst my car was still in the garage as well (mate lets me use it) anyway, 154bhp at the wheels. Not bad for an almost standard car, K&N's going on next
aLRITE nASS! Yer car's alrite but fuk me its a car! Did u ring is the other day? village? or summit! CAnt wait till the 27th m goin to get smashed off me face, the first timer is now the fuk head!:chill: :chill:
