How much does a respray cost and what colour should I get for the fiesta? It's quite rusty at the back and bits and bobs along the sides.

aswell as the respray you will need the rust in the panels filled and smoothened.

Wont be very cheap like mate!

    You are fucking joking? :(

What can I do about the rust, cheaply and effectively? I want it gone and the bubbles dissapeared but I don't have that much money mate.

spray jobs can run from £300 for a quick blow over to 2k plus for a proper job (what i was quoted on mine for a proper strip down and repaint)

not worth doing the £300 option imo, quick rub down of the rust and a bodge and you can garrentee it wil be back to haunt you in 4 months time

far better to cut out all the rust, weld in new pannels and respray properly

but then you have to take into acount, what your going todo with the car in a year or so, spend to much and you need to be looking at keeping it for a while to get any gains from it

my mate has just spent 2k on bodywork for his bmw and has just decieded he wasnt to flog it and get a evo or wrx (why?)

if it were me, id run it into the ground, get sum more no claims, save sum cash buy not "fixing" it where nesacary and buying a better car further down the line

    xr4i looks clean mind

Ive got one rusty arch, but I intend to keep the car for at least a year so im cutting the rust out, welding a arch repair panel on.

    Then fill
    Then smooth,
    Then Primer
    Then Paint
    Then Rubbing Compound

    Then T-Cut

    Its all in the prep!

exactly what liam said. save your money, cos your probably gonna need to fix stuff that goes wrong with it. I know people who have bought a cheap car then nearly spent double the price of the car on things that have gone wrong with it. the risk u have buying cheap second hand cars. in the end they should have just saved up more and bought a better car.
