i've lived right in the town centre for 3 years now and it is a fucking dive!

if you walk down the street you will be guarenteed some twat will try and get 17p or a fag out of you...they give you some bullshit story about needing a bus/just getting out of prison and put their arm round you until they get what they want or get told to fuck off!

i am paraniod that if i escape to the safety of heaton (which is 1000x better) for too long, me beloved records will have gone when i get back!

yeah it is!i've had some of my best nights ever in there...but never go anymore as it rivals gatecrasher1 for the utter scum it attracts!i still go to pvd/tiesto etc when they show their faces as it is so close....i like the club but not the crowd!

that made me laugh cos i really do hate the dickens inn.

however boro is no worse than sunderland or newcastle for anti-social behaviour, theft, burgalry or drug useage. once you escape from the city centres the north east is far from a horrendous place to live. i'm always amazed at how quick people from the same region are to slag of towns with almost identikit profiles to their own.

I know boro isn't nice... why dya think I don't live there! I just know that the outskirts are nice and the center isn't as bad as people make out!

In the end boro might be a shithole but its is MY shithole and I have a right to stick up for it!

@bigdave... having lived around boro all my life I have rarely been pestered at all in boro yet in newcastle it is a regular occurence... I am only going on what I have seen and experienced...

Ive only been on 2 occasions, both nights with big names on and both very busy. Bout 6mth apart. I had a wicked time at one but an absolute shitter at the other. The club is quite a dive tbh, altho Ive seen worse. I had a good impression of the Shack first time I went but the second totally put me off the place. The ppl were fooking horrible, and after being bashed about all nite then kicked in the leg off some bitch for nothing, I took a huff and fooked off Doubt Id go for any DJ less than amazing again.

I never go to the shack no more... it is certainly a dive, used to go quite a lot but the atmosphere isn't a patch on promise... would have to be a good reason for me to go back...
