memory, processor etc.....HELP

    lol...yes there is a huge fuckoff fan that i havent dared to touch for fear of shagging my pc to pieces.

    still havent processed my order lol...deciding on what processor to get :think:

    I dealt with a P4 PC recently that was overheating (70-80 degrees). I found when I took the heatsink off that whichever gimp had built it didn't use any thermal compound :lol:

    finally ordered so.....is it easy to take out the fan, replace my processor chip then re-fit the fan?? can get someone to do it for me but so much easier if i could jus do it myself

    It's relatively easy, just make sure you line the processor up right to go in the slot (it'll only go in one way, look for the end that has a pin missing at either corner and line it up with the corresponding missing pins on the board).

    After that pop some thermal compound on the top and make sure you put the fan back on nice and tight.
