    in my lil magic office....

The thing about DJ's like Derb, Hennes & Cold etc., is that they don't really pull a crowd. Especially in a city like Newcastle.

In comparison booking someone like Mauro will fill the club pretty much guaranteed.

It's not just how much a DJ charges that needs to be taken into account, it's how much money the club are going to make from booking them.

(But....IMO I bet Derb, Hennes & Cold etc., charge quite a bit as well)

I do agree with you there m8. They probs do charge a fair bit and Mauro would pull alot of people into the club.

It would be nice to see some new dj's play Promise though especially now that it is monthly with an earlier start and later finish. More dj's can be booked and Promise will be always be busy when it is monthly IMO. It gets a bit boring seeing the same dj's playing in a rotational pattern, fair enough, Mauro aint played there for a while but I think that new dj's should be brought in to play at Promise.
IMO Uberdruck, Hennes and Cold etc are just as well known as Yoji Biomehanika was a short while ago. I reckon it would be well worth it.

Why anyone wants to see DJs like Ki Tracid and Heannes and Cold is beyong me. They cant mix worth a fuk and the tunes they play would make you sick.

What I dont get is why you are so interested in seeing these guys. Very few of them are DJs to trade they just play out for extra promotion and cash. You will proibably find they have only been djing for about 6months.

    he isnt no.

    he admits this himself.

he is NOT a techno dj.

he enjoys playing MUSIC - he will play whatever he thinks fits.

    which, is a good thing!

he even said this in an interview in sum music mag earlier in year (late last yr?) - it annoys him to be stuck into just techno catagory.

One bad tune mate. Fucking hell.
Yoji Biomehanika plays a shitty remix of Ah-Ha-Take on me, do u think he should not be playing in clubs. Like I was saying its better to have a bit of variation dj wise.
Just sometimes seems that the dj's are playing Promise on some sort of rota at times.
No, I aint seen Hennes and Cold live, only downloads!:)

Not at all but the fact that i dont know ANYONE who likes that tune says it all really.

Like Gio said, some producers should stick to being producers and not (try and) Dj.
