    Matt Hardwick-opinions

He was, and still is an excellent DJ. When he played a couple of years ago it was significantly busier than it has been last couple of times he has played- due to mainly, IMO, two things firstly that people have seen him before many times and secondly that trance has gradually got less popular over last couple of years (hence crasher =monthly, cream=shut, godskitchen=reduced entry prices). Many people like house now as well, that's y people on here go to shindig a lot as well now-don't think this would have happened a couple of years ago.

This is why more varied lineups were needed, by introducing two new monthly nights this should make it easier for consistently better promise lineups, so these changes were a very well thought out idea IMO.
Sadly this will no doubt mean that excellent Djs, such as Matt, Scott Bond, Ornadel etc will receive less bookins than they have previously, but the fact is that when these dj's have been on recently there has been a lot less interest than, say, a couple of years ago. On these nights recently due to less people there was clealry less atmosphere, not what any club wants. Hence by the new nights and more varied /consistently better lineups this will keep promise going as a strong clubbing force and the popularity will increase again.

As i've said before when new DJ's have booked it has been busy (ie Scott Project, SHOKK, Yoji). Busy nights like these are what promise wants and will get more often now IMO after the changes. Altho obviousley Altern8 etc won't appeal to everyone it will probably draw a few more new people into the club who may come again if they like the club. But now Promise will be better overall IMO

    conclusions
MAtt Hardwick, Scot Bond etc = excellent djs but having them on so often didn't work for promise hence changes had to be made

changes = will benefit promise in the long run, as will make more consistently good lineups for promise, and varied overall

sorry for rambling, does anyone agree me or was i just waffling crap????

It must be hard to decide who to book, for me the change of direction is a good thing, I love the likes of Tissera etc.

Did you not read Marks post? Tonight is History NOT Promise! If Altern8 draw people in to the club it will help the new night History!

I haven't read everything on here, but nights when it was quiet at promise, inlcuding Matt's - what other factors were there to be take into consideration? Were there other 'big events' on that night, or the following night in the north east?

Forgive me if i'm wrong - I have a bit of a foggy head this afternoon but i'm sure there were other things on around that time which clubbers would have went to.. like Promise Vs Goodgreef at Tall Trees for example on the 15th when Matt was playing on the 14th.

For me personally it was alot more costly getting down there, but that night looked good (and it bloody was aswell) so I went there rather than Hardwick on the 14th.

I don't know if there were other events (was there not the Promise VS GG return on the night before Godskitchen or did that not have Godwick on?) when Promise regulars would be strayed to something different that night or the following but I'm sure it's not that people aren't interested in Hardwick. It's more about timing IMO.
