I was on a train home the other day and surprisingly it borke down so we all had to get off at York...anyway
There was a little old lady by the door who asked the guard if someone could help her get off with her case and everything, she obviously couldn't walk very well as she had a stick and the guard was like, oh well we'll try to help but there are only two of us on duty on this train.

to do what????open doors by a magical button...hardly takes 2 does it!

so we stopped and no-one came back for her so i offered to help her and carried her bag off

low and behold once i'd got off with her bag then helped her off, a guard who had actually been stood by the dor on the platform watching swiftly took the bag off me and got hold of her

no thanks from him or a sorry to her for not helping. Though she was lovely to me and said a big thank you

You'd at least expect poeple doing a job to be polite and helpful!!!

i have alot of bad memories of buses acually :( the time i went to an afterparty after shindig, got the bus back to town in the morning total ill, or so i thought, it went straight thru newcastle and i ended up in the middle of nowhere.
Got to wherever it stopped and asked the bus driver if he was going back to newcastle, it didn't so i had to wait half an hour freezing for the next bus. When i got on i was shaking that bad through the cold and stupidy of the night before that i dropped the money down the wrong slots on the bus, so the bus driver had to get off the bus, go to another one to get a screw driver to open it up, whilst i stood their monged with a bus full of people wanting my head as a trophy on their walls :(

nothing at all to do with the thread topic but thought id share it anyways lol

I always always try and be polite and I feel you always feel better for it afterwards. At work the other day this drunk rough loud man was in the restaurant and staggered out the restaurant after eating his meal and he went in his pocket and dropped 20 pounds on the floor....nobody saw or anything and he went out onto the street but I ran after him with the money...I felt happy after doing it because I know it was the right thing to do :)

I would of said something to him in front of everyone and made him feel really small and insignificant, just like he had probably made the person serving him feel.

as i've got older i've definately become less tolerant to bad manners.
