police stopped two Austrian tourists from photographing a bus station in London and demanded they delete the pix from their camera saying that it was forbidden to photograph transport things to stop terrorism.
they had no choice but to comply even though there is no such law.

they can intimidate you into doing it though,and lots of other stuff. That's why it's important that they operate strictly within the law.
many countries around the world have police forces that operate like vigilante forces. We used to be better than that,and generally are, but ours are only like that because we as ordinary citizens kick up a fuss when they overstep the mark. If we ever stop doing that and say well these demonstrators deserved it then we are all losers in the long run.

It now seems Ian Tomlinson was a victim of manslaughter at the least. A sad day when we are condoning torture, fighting illegal wars, killing innocent people, imprisoning innocent children in detention centres and allowing house arrest and mass surveillance all in the name of security.
